While John was exiled to the island of Patmos, he recieved a vision from God. John saw seven different cities of whom the book of revelation was written to. The different cities were 7 different churches including Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamos, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea. These Churches represent 7 different ages of the Church. They are in chronological order of when they will be prominent during the Church Age.

Below is a Prophetic Profile of the Seven Churches Jesus is addressing:

1. Ephesus - The Apostolic Church
2. Smyrna - The Persecuted Church
3. Pergamos - The Married Church
4. Thyatira - The Medieval Church
5. Sardis - The Denominational Church
6. Philadelphia - The Missionary Church
7. Laodicea - The Apostate Church

The one that we will be addressing today is the church at Laodicea. This is what Jesus had to say to the Church at Laodicea "I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth."Revelation 3:15-16. Christ is saying that the church at Laodicea is so abscessed with treasures from the world that it does not give any regard to treasures from heaven. It is a church alright, but it is an apostate church. This church literally makes Jesus sick to his stomach because it claims to be a church and cares more about money than it does God. This is proven by Revelation 3:17-18 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:18I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

This definitely is a picture of today's world wide church. There is a growing number of people who call themselves Christians but do not act accordingly. The other day at school, i was working with a kid when he made a perverted joke to me. He expected me to laugh. However instead of laughing, I asked him a question that i don't think he wanted to be asked. "Are you a Christian?", I asked him. He replied and said that he was. I told him that a Child of God cannot worship God with praise and worship the Devil with the same tounge. (James 3:1-18). This person responded to me in a way that i had not expected. He told me that because Jesus died on the cross, our sins were forgiven and therefore, it was ok to sin. What makes a person a Follower of Jesus Christ? The Bible says very clearly That we are not to test God. (Matthew 4:7). This false doctrine that we can sin because Jesus took care of it is nothing less than a sign that we are in the last generation of the Church Age."And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold." (Matthew 24:12)

Another sign that shows that this generation is the apostate church is the rise of the belief that because God is a righteous god, he therefore cannot judge. I hate to burst their bubble but 1 Peter 2:23 tells us differently. See for yourselves, "Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously."
There you have it. God does indeed Judge and to say he doesn't is to say that God is unrighteous. Where is the "Christianity" in that?

The United States is unfortunately a place where the Laocidean church flourishes. Kids grow up with the Word of God not being in their homes. You can easily recognize this by the fowl language that kids use, pornography is becoming rampant, and Leaders of the apostate church would rather please man than please God. People now promote homosexuality. That is promoting sin, thus promoting the very thing that separates us from God. It is important to please God first.

Because of these signs, it is clear that we are living at the very end of the church age.
"So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors" (Matthew 24:33)

One day in the near future, Jesus will come down out of Heaven, resurrect the dead in Christ and snatch up the living church. (1 Thessalonians 4:23) If you feel that you are part of the apostate church, Look for the true God by reading the Bible and praying. We don't know that there will be tomorrow so accept Christ while you still have the chance.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."-
(John 3:16)
