Malaria is a common disease that can be seen all over the world. There are many people who suffer tom this condition. There are many more people suffering in the developing countries than those who are suffering from the disease in the developed nations. The main reason for this is that the people in the developed nations have a lot more hygienic conditions and the lifestyle is different than the group of people who are living in the villages
of a developing nation.

The other reason for the disease to be prevalent in the developing nations is because the disease is spread by mosquitoes and these are present in larger numbers in the tropical lands. Africa and major parts of Asia are the main places where Malaria is commonly seen. There are many places where this disease is spread out like an epidemic.

The causes:

The mosquito is the reason for the disease to occur, but it is not the actual cause of the disease. The disease is caused by a micro organism that is called as Plasmodium. When this enters the body, it has a life cycle of its own. This organism manifests in the human body and causes the various symptoms that are associated with Malaria.

The types of Malaria:

There are basically four different kinds of Malaria. These four are dependent on the organism that has caused the disease. The most lethal one of these is the Plasmodium Falciparum. This organism and type of Malaria is also called as the P.f. The other kind of Malaria is caused by the Plasmodium vivax. The third type is the Plasmodium ovulae. The final one is the Plasmodium Malariae. These are the kinds of organism that can cause the malaria. The various signs and the symptoms that are usually associated with the Malaria is based on the type of infection that has occurred in a person.

Signs and symptoms of Malaria

There are some common methods that can be used to identify the presence of Malaria. The main method that can be used to identify the disease is with the various clinical signs that accompany the disease. A person who is suffering from the disease will commonly have various signs that mimic the presence of flu. The method in which the person can make a difference between the presence of Malaria and the presence of flu is that the person will have the blood test specific for the organism to be positive. If there is a situation in which there can be no blood test done, then the history of a visit to a place that has Malaria as a endemic problem will confirm the condition and the use of anti Malarial drug is indicated. This is because the disease can be fatal, especially if the person is affected with the Plasmodium Falciparum.

The common signs of the disease include the presence of signs such as nausea and vomiting. The person will also have a sudden hike in the temperature, especially in the evenings. This is a sure sign of Malaria. Other than these signs the fever will also be accompanied with headache. The people who are affected with the Falciparum kind of Malaria will have a sudden worsening of symptoms and they can go into a state of coma within a few days.
