Want more energy? Take a cue from the bees! They are one of the most industrious species out there- they work hard! Some of the products produced by bees- Royal Jelly and Bee Pollen- have been known to boost your immune system in addition to increasing your energy. You can find these at any health food store. And they actually taste kind of good!

Increase your stamina by taking the herbal supplement ginseng. Ginseng is nature's caffeine, without the addictive properties or nasty side effects. It's found in some energy drinks, but you can find it in any health food store in it's pure form. It also boosts your immune system, so that's a plus!

Kola: Called Gotu Kola leaves are a wonderful way to increase your energy. It's typically used in either food dishes like curry, or as a tea. Interestingly, it has both properties of stimulating your circulatory system and acting as a calming agent. It is also thought to help with the effects of hyper tension. Packed with nutrients, it is also very typically used as a way to fight fatigue and depression.

H2O: Drink some water! Just being 2% dehydrated will leave you feeling sluggish and tired. Concentration also goes south, so make sure you are drinking water! Our bodies are 80% water, and depend on this to operate. If you consume caffeine, it is actually a diuretic which will just compound your fatigue once it wears off. Replace a soda or two with a glass of water, and see how much better you feel!

Regular meals
: How many of us skip breakfast, despite what our mom's said over it was the most important meal of the day? Mom's know their stuff. Our bodies operate ideally with a constant state of blood sugar, rather than the spikes and dips of irregular meals. Eat breakfast, and aim for a small meal of 200-300 calories every 3 hours.

Statistically you aren't eating enough protein (girls, that particularly means you), which would greatly impact your energy throughout the day! Adding some protein to a meal helps you feel full longer, and keeps your blood sugar from spiking then crashing a few hours later. If you like smoothies, add some protein powder to the mix. Take some string cheese with your lunch, or a baggie of nuts if you are a vegetarian. Get more protein, and you'll feel a difference at the end of the day.

Adding some fiber to your diet will see your energy levels raise instantly. Fiber helps keep us full longer, which means our food takes longer to digest. The reason junk food leaves us feeling tired shortly afterwards is because it takes almost no time to digest. It's all sugar and no fiber! So get some fiber in there, and you'll find that you aren't crashing an hour or two after eating.

Exercise: You knew this one was coming. But there's a reason it continue to be included on the list: it works! You don't have to kill yourself running a 3k to get the energy benefits; brisk walking for 10 minutes has shown to up energy levels. If you are looking to maximize the benefits, work up to 30 minutes a day. You'll be more energetic, and your heart will love you for it.
