Kovalam is one of the well known places in Kerala. Kerala which is a state in the Southern part of India is well known as God's own country. The reason for this is that the place is green and has many backwaters. It is a well known holiday destination for people in India and also from other countries. Kovalam is best known for the pristine beach and also for the various rejuvenating resorts that dot the land.

If you are planning to visit Kovalam, you would do well to visit between the months of October and April as it will not be very hot and the rains would also be nearly over. You will be able to enjoy a wonderful holiday here. You can also wear cotton clothing as it can get a bit sweaty during the day time. The temperature in Kovalam in fact, would be between 22 to 35 degrees.

Kovalam was actually only a fishing village that is present at a distance of about 16 kilometers from the capital of Kerala which is Thiruvanantapuram, formerly known as Trivandrum. Kovalam is visited by a lot of tourists because of the pleasant climate and also because of the many holiday resorts that are present in this area. In fact, Kovalam is called to be the Paradise of the South. Tourism has come a long way in this sleepy fishing village and so all the amnesties are available for tourists.

Reaching Kovalam:

Anyone wanting to visit Kovalam can fly to Thiruvanantapuram. Trains reach Thiruvanantapuram Central and from the city it is just a 20 kilometer drive and there are many tourist cabs that are available for a person who is visiting the place.
Once you have reached Kovalam, you can decide to stay in places near the beachfront. There are many lodging places that are present here. Some of them are very economic in their prices.

You will be able to enjoy a bath in the sea or go out for a swim. The sea is very safe in Kovalam and that is one main reason for many tourists to flock to the place. There are actually three beaches that are all crescent shaped. The lighthouse beach is the most famous of the three beaches.

You will also be able to get a rejuvenating massage by one of the many massagers who will be able to give you a massage that is rejuvenating. Other than the massage and the beaches, there are also other attractions that can be visited when you are on a trip to Kovalam.

The Padmanabhaswamy temple is one of the famous ones and you will be able to enjoy the architecture of the temple. The temple is also famous because of the fact that it is considered to be one of the 108 places where Lord Vishnu rests.

Other than this, there are also many other temples, mosques and churches that are very well known for their architecture. So you will have a wonderful and entertaining time when you visit Kovalam.
