Each organization have a vision for it. The vision of the company depends upon their way of business. The vision of the company always depends upon the fundamentals of the organization in view for the future. So A Vision Statement of a company is to define "Where do we want to go?" . So the vision of the company that it is going to be in the so and so position by this time line. So the vision is set for a long term basis by looking at the present day of business. In another words it is the dreams and hopes of an organization to show that they want to be in that position , or they are trying to build themselves by their fundamental objective to be in that position.

If we think of Mission statement which tells about the current status of the organization by keeping in the whole business as aim, But where as Vision statement is not about the current scenario it is about the hopes of the company in future. It is a source for inspiration for the future of the organization. The statement is to keep everyone on the ultimate goal of the organization to achieve. Unlike mission statement it is the vision of the company to achieve by the help of their inherent strength and present business situation.

Now a days each organization is writing very good motivating and Inspirational Vision Statement , So as to make the system to achieve it. In other words it sets you the directional planning to achieve the goal. The mission statement always helps the company to think on the vision statement of its.

For Example: The vision statement of dell is "Its the way we do business. It's the way we interact with the community. It's the way we interpret the world around us-- our customers needs, the future of technology, and the global business climate. Whatever changes the future may bring our vision -- Dell Vision -- will be our guiding force."

So they want customer satisfaction in terms of their products and services. They want to be in good position of IT market to cater the needs of the customer.

So, the vision statement helps the company to show the vision of it for the future. And, it shows the strategic planning of the organization to reach that.
