There are many openings for Probationary officers in various banks in India every year. The term "probation" itself refers to some contract basis appointment assigned for the freshers. It means, the stipulated test period in which the entering candidates prove themselves in their jobs. It will be required for the applicants to first clear the Common Written Examination (CWE) for probationary officers to apply for this job opening in any bank. The tests conducted under CWE are: Analytical Reasoning, English language skills, Quantitative aptitude, general bank awareness test, computer knowledge test and descriptive paper on English. The candidates clearing this CWE IBPS exam are alone eligible to apply for the post of probationary officer. The applicants should necessarily have the basic knowledge to work in MS office applications, Internet and E-mail accounts. The job nature of "Probationary Officer" is that it is basically a clerical job, which fully involves business administration and financial accounting. Probationary officers take care of the financial transactions through internet, phone or MS windows applications. Though it is a contract based appointment, it is becomes a permanent one based on the performance. For clearing the initial IBPS CWE exam, there are various sources such as books, e-books, sources from the internet and other course materials. The candidates can also join courses available in some institutes for clearing the IPBS CWE exam if desired. Only those candidates clearing CWE exam will be permitted for the personal interview and further screening processes. There are vacancies in Oriental Bank of Commerce for the post of Probationary Officer. The headquarters of OBC is in Agra, India. Only the candidates who had successfully cleared the CWE IBPS exam can apply for this position. This is particularly an Indian based recruitment. Thus only Indian candidates or those who obtained Indian citizenship are eligible for the applying for this opening. The candidates should refer to the advertisement posted on the "Recruitment and Results" section under OBC website or to the advertisement in Employment News dated 14-20.07.2012. They can obtain their details regarding eligibility criteria, job description, experience, age limit, application fee and the mode of application from the posted advertisement. If in case, the candidates who are selected for the process lacks any of the computer skills, they are required to gain them within 6 months from the date of appointment. They are also required to submit their certificates for proving their computer skills in those areas.
