Maruti Omni is a multi utility microvan manufactured by Indian automobile company Maruti Suzuki. It is one of the most successful utility vehicles on Indian roads. Maruti Omni is not only perfect as a family vehicle but also for other utility purpose.
Maruti Omni is run by a 796 cc, 3-cylinder petrol engine which comes with better MFI technology. This engine has a maximum power of 35 bhp @ 5000 rpm and the maximum torque of 6.1 kgm @ 3000 rpm. There are 6 engine valves and the piston displacement is 796 cc. The power transmission of the car is manual, 4 forward, all synchromesh, 1 reverse. The fuel capacity of Maruti Omni is 36 liters.
Exterior and Interior:
Maruti Omni looks very sporty and according to design it is very trendy. The trendy front grill, dynamic body graphics, new smart steering lock and wheel, mud flaps, sun visor, laminated glass windshield and clear lens headlamps give this car whole new look. The external dimension includes 3370 mm length, 1410 mm length and 1640 mm height. The wheel base of the car is 1840 mm with a turning radius of 4.1 mm. Maruti Omni weights 785 kg.
The car is very appreciated for the spacious interior which makes this car a perfect family vehicle for outing and long route drives. Maruti Omni is unique in a way as it uses a front mid engine rear wheel drive outline. This kind of layout helps to maximize both the cabin and cargo space in both versions of the car. It also ensures maximum traction. Omni provides enough legroom and headroom for the passengers.
Interior of the car has molded floor and trunk carpets, reclining front seats, adjustable front seat head restraints, sliding facility on driver's seat, rear view mirror, glove compartment with lock, front seat belts (ELR), rear seat belts (static), front and rear assist grips, dashboard with cup-holder and space for utility items and two tone upholstery. It also has thermoplastic bumpers, hatchback door lock, three position cabin lamps, 2 speed windshield wiper, high mount rear stop lam, headlamp leveling device and multi-function levers. Moreover, sliding doors provide further comfort to the passengers while embarking and disembarking onto the vehicle.
Omni has all standard safety features such as impact door beams and laminated windshield, improvised braking system and booster assisted disc brakes. The efficiency of Maruti Omni has been enhanced by the safety features like radial tyres and headlamp devise.
Variant, Price & mileage:
Various models of Omni are available. Basically this car can be divided into two categories: the family version and the cargo version. These two categories include- Five Seater- BS lll, 8 Seater- BS III, LPG- BS III, Cargo LPG- BS III and Cargo- BS III.
In the new family version two extra seats have been added just behind the front seating and make it an 8 seat car. The cargo version is entirely devoid of back seats.
The price of different variants of Maruti Omni lies between Rs 2.0 lakhs to Rs 2.50 lakhs.
