Very few teams have provided the footballing public with such entertainment as Man United and Arsenal have over the years. Who could forget the imfamous battle of Old Trafford or that Ryan Giggs wonder goal in 1999 that had us all drooling over the silky skills of the welsh wing wizard. Even though both teams appear to have fallen on hard times recently i predict we will have another classic in store this time around.

Much has been made of United's below par performances in the league this season, losing points from games that seemed done and dusted and the fact that their midfield are still over reliant on both giggs and scholes to lead them and make things happen despite both players being in the latter years of their careers. Arsenal on the other hand have been accused of an over reliance on youth and a lack of a killer touch up front to finish off the chances which their quick passing footballing style creates. What can not be argued is that these two teams are currently the top two teams in England and do not look likely to be caught by the teams in the chasing pack. This F.A cup tie could be the making or breaking of a season for both teams.

Arsenal are coming off the back of a couple of devestating defeats in recent weeks , a last minute loss to Birmingham in the Carling Cup final and a dissapointing exit from the Champions league to Barcelona despite taking a 2-1 lead into the second leg. A draw at the emirates against a plucky however fortuitous Sunderland will not have filled the Arsenal faithful with much confidence either. United are coming off their worst week in football for quite some time, once agin losing a half time lead away to Chelsea and a bitterly dissapointing loss to noisy neighbours Liverpool hacking away at what was an extremely strong lead at the top of the table. Uniteds Champions league escapades have been lack lustre also despite having yet to concede a goal in the competition they could only manage a 0-0 draw with Marseille laving them with much to do in the second leg.

However this is the F.A cup and knock out football is often the push players need to produce some of their best form. Neither team will want to lose and perhaps hand the other the momentum to go on and win the league and Arsenal would love to end their five year wait for a trophy by taking out bitter rivals United on the way to Wembley. Uniteds stars will be eager to get back to winning ways and would love the chance to put another dent in the Gunners season. They would also love prove their critics wrong and show that they are capable of carrying the club to another successful season. There will be no love lost between these two at Old Traford on saturday as both teams go for broke
