Lesson plan is an important aspect of any educational process. As the name indicates, it is a plan of the lesson that is going to be taught to the learner. The lesson should be planned and that means the right sequence and the time of the lesson and all other things needs to be planned. This will make the teaching and the learning process to be more effective. This article lists the various purposes of a lesson plan and the definition of the lesson plan. The lesson plan can be defines simply to be the formalized outline of a lesson. It is a formal aspect of the lesson and is also an outline. The teacher makes sure that the teaching process for that particular topic revolves around the plan that has been charted out. The purposes of a lesson plan There are various purposes of lesson plans and these are the ones that guide the teacher while teaching. The purposes are: 1. Concept: The lesson plan is made to make sure that the concept is clear. This is a guide of what the teacher is going to do and how she is going to do the needful. If there is no plan as to how the teaching is going to take place, then the whole teaching will become a failure. The concept of lesson plan acts as a guide to the teacher in the process of completing the teaching. 2. Guides teacher and student: The lesson plan is also a guide for the teacher. At the same time, the plan is also a guide to the student. As the lesson plan guides the teacher to prepare for the lesson and decide on the methods that are going to be used in the process of teaching, it will also guide the student in the process of learning, The student can use the guidelines and this will make sure that the student is able to use the appropriate learning methods and allot the time according to the importance of the lesson. 3. Helps to construct the tests: The lesson plan that is made by the trainer will also be very helpful in making and creating tests for the students. If you create a lesson plan, then you will be able to make sure that the trainee or the student has adequate time to prepare for the exam and at the same time, you will also be able to ensure that it is easy for you to construct tests for the students. Lesson plans help the trainer to have adequate questions from the relevant subjects. 4. Can be reused: One of the most important advantages of the lesson plan is that once it is prepared, it can be used again and again. This is a major advantage for any trainer. It saves you a lot of time and you need not create it again. It also helps you to recollect what needs to be taught and which are the important aspects of the subject that needs to be covered.
