By : Soumen Nath Introduction : Modern organizations are suffering from low employee loyalty and with the advent of time it is decreasing day by day. There may be any number of reasons responsible for it, call it direct factors or indirect factors from the organizational context. The only way to confront with low employee loyalty is to study carefully the employee loyalty life cycle. Let us discuss about the cases and conditions related to different stages of ELLC for better understanding. Assumptions : Case I : 'Employee Loyalty towards organization is very high. Conditions : (a) Relationship focus is supported by friendly / accommodative organizational work environment. AND (b) Availability of career advancement / growth with friendly work environment. AND (c) Management effectiveness and Reward both monetary and non-monetary conditions are favorable. Case II : Employee Loyalty towards organization is very low. Conditions : (a) Relationship focus is supported by friendly / accommodative organizational work environment but Career growth and Reward system is either not adequate or not available. OR (b) Availability of Career Advancement / Growth with unfriendly work environment. OR (c) Management effectiveness and Reward both monetary and non-monetary conditions are unfavorable. Conclusion : Employee loyalty (Low or High) depends on the conditions of its stages of life cycle. Further study in this regard is very much required to find out the full implications of different stages of employee loyalty life cycle. Another but related issue with the employee loyalty life cycle is cultural change in the existing organizational environment with the induction of new employees need to be discussed.
