Gujarat is located in the Western part of India and has covered longest coastline of India
The state leads the nation in many industrial aspects and has a state GDP that is 2.5 times higher than country

Some of the basic facts regarding Gujarat are that the population is about 55 million. The languages that are spoken include Gujarati, Hindi, and English to a lesser extent. The tourist season could be said to be from June to October during the monsoon season. Some of the major cities in the state include Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat and Rajkot. The famous foods of the state include dhokla, bhajia, milk items. There are some wonderful festivals of the place and they include Gujarat vibrant, Navratri. ( nine nights).

First thing you will notice here is the warm welcome by native Gujarati's to outsiders.
What makes Gujarat so unique is that it is full of diversities, Bhed dwarka situated at west corner stone of Arabian Sea is among one of the four most premier sacred Place in India which has way a direct path to heaven according to Hindu mythology,

I will now try to focus more on places which are most worth watching as far as both national and international tourists are concerned, and also for visitors with inadequate time.

AHMEDABAD AND GANDHINAGAR, the twin cites


Most likely places that can be visited by any tourist are
1. Sabarmati Ashram (world famous Satyagraha movement by Mahatma Gandhi initiated from here). This is one of the places where many people from all parts of India come, because this place played a great role in the freedom struggle by Indians against the British rule.
2. Ahmed shah's mosque is another famous place.
3. Kankaria lake is a place where you can have a relaxing time.
4. Gandhi Smarak Sangrahaiya is another great place in the city.

For food lovers - The city is famous for various kinds of sweets and delicious dairy items. Some of the most famous shops in the place are Askalia shop, Bikanerwala sweets, and these are the famous bakeries which you are surely not to miss.

The city is considered to be Paradise for shoppers and will help to fit in all kind of tastes and pockets.

All kind of Embroided materials are available and they are most unique here. Bapu nagar,Lal darwaza and Elis Bridge are the best places to have pleasurable shopping
Some other places which can also be seen as per your own priorities are Bhadra fort, Jhulta minar and Gita Mandir

Though Gujarat may have been the place where one of the worst communal riots in India has taken place, the state and expecially the capital city attracts many tourists from all over the world for a variety of reasons and one should remember that this is one of the most developed states in India.

If you are on a visit to India, then this is a state and a city that you should have on your itinerary.
