When Starting an Internet Home Business, Beware of MisconceptionsBY: Nancy Harnell | Category: Sales-Marketing | Submitted: 2011-01-12 08:36:14
Article Summary: "If you're thinking about starting a home based business, you're probably going crazy already with all the myths and recommendations out there. You're smart to protect yourself against the common beliefs by examining the truth..."
In today's world, almost anyone would want to consider an internet home based business. Our world today is ever changing with more stressful drive to work every day. Between the snow blizzards, increasing gas costs, increasing traffic accidents and traffic jams, and concern for diminishing social security, it's pretty much a "no brainer" when it comes to making this decision.
Notwithstanding your excitement in entering this new phase of life, you're smart to get the right plan first. If you're new to the idea of multilevel marketing, you'll need to be aware of the underestimated work ahead. The biggest reason why multilevel marketing has a bad name is that people tend to buy into hope, with no real expectations of giving the business a lot of effort. You'd be wise to learn the truths about these misconceptions and sort out true from false before you waste any time or money.
If you're starting a home based business, beware of the following stumbling blocks that will keep you "at the bottom of the pyramid":
FIRST, IF YOU'RE WORRIED ABOUT A PYRAMID SCHEME, YOU NEED TO LEARN THE FACTS.
The pyramid scheme companies do actually exist; they have no product or service to sell and operate illegally. These companies are operating illegally and should be not confused with legitimate multilevel companies. A true 'pyramid scheme' collapses and leaves the last guy "holding the bag". On the flip side, a sound MLM company with a good commission structure usually grows stronger every year. If you're worried about the pyramid shape, just think of the shape of all big organizations, even including churches and scouts! While it's true that "the people at the bottom don't make money", it has nothing to do with when they joined or how long they've been with the opportunity. The sole reason for this is because these people don't apply themselves. Contrary to popular belief, it's entirely possible to earn more than your sponsor and his sponsor if you're willing to put forth some effort.
NUMBER TWO MYTH HAS TO DO WITH THE SPEED OF INCOME, AS A LOT OF SPONSORS WILL FALSELY OFFER A FAST RETURN ON INVESTMENT.
You can achieve the thousand dollar level, but it doesn't come without time and hard work. Actually, to earn $1000 inside of a month, most multilevel organizations require a downline of 100 people or more. Constructing your internet home based business will require your finances and your time. When you spend a lot, the time allotted doesn't need to be as much; but if you're low on cash, be prepared to spend a lot of time! And, If you're lacking in both extra time and money, be prepared to spend a long time! But even that doesn't mean it's impossible. As long as you are very persistent in what you do and don't give up, it's very possible to achieve. It just takes time and perseverance. Don't make the mistake that so many do when they expect the silver platter. Be attentive to the kind of business opportunity you want to invest in, and treat it as a business, not a lottery ticket.
THE THIRD MYTH IS REFLECTED IN THE SPONSOR WHO TELLS YOU THAT YOU HAVE TO COME ABOARD IMMEDIATELY OR YOU'LL LOOSE YOUR OPPORTUNITY.
It might be true that, when a company is new, IF they become really big, then coming in early is a great asset. However, a good business opportunity should improve with time and exposure. When it comes to making this kind of choice with your life, make sure it's something you want to devote your time to.
THE FOURTH MYTH SAYS "YOU CAN RELAX AFTER YOU BUILD YOUR DOWNLINE".
The unfortunate fact is that the average person will quit soon after he starts. Even for the most well meaning and hard working, stuff happens and people fall off. You can't count on keeping a well-built downline. But you can anticipate numbers like the hundred you can find on the internet. If you can get your leads flowing with the right traffic generation procedure, this can turn your internet home based business into a fun venture! The bottom line is that you need a good flow of traffic via the internet to keep the flow of fresh leads to build a successful business downline.
MYTH NUMBER FIVE: A STRONG MULTILEVEL BUSINESS HAS STRONG SELLERS AT THE TOP.
Conversely, you can expect that a strong MLM team builds from the bottom up. The opposite layout suggests that the strength - you and those you personally recruit first and spend the most time with, is the foundation that supports your business. And, when your downline is well trained and follows your duplicable system, they begin to expand your business. The whole establishment rests on you, the foundation of your internet home based business. Once the momentum has begun, it continues to build, and that's where you'll find yourself in a successful in internet home based business.
