TH!NK city is the latest release of Think Global a Norway based car manufacturer. It is small highway capable electric car with 110 kilometers per hour top speed. If you used to think that you could never own an electric car then it is time to TH!NK again!
TH!NK was planned to be launched for the Norwegian customer by the end of 2007 but it missed the target. In 2008 at the Geneva Motor Show, it has been announced that TH!NK City is going to launch in Denmark and Sweden in 2008 and in UK, Germany, Italy and Netherlands in 2009.
This is a modern city car with zero emission and high energy efficiency. The engine of the car does not make any noise so that you can drive in a sound environment.
The car is completely battery powered. It can run more than 110 miles (180 kilometers) if it is fully charged. The top speed of the car is 68 miters per hour (110 kph). This car takes 7 seconds to go from zero to 30 miles per hour (90 km/h) speed. The exterior dimensions of the car are 9.8 feet (3.0m) long, 5.25 feet (1.60 m) wide and 5.1 feet (1.6 m) high. This car has 40bhp electric motor. And it weights 1,400 kg. With the built in charger this car requires 8-10 hours for charging from a standard 240 volt 10 or 16 amp power source. TH!NK City is featuring two kind of batteries. They are Zebra Sodium battery and Lithium0ion battery.
The body of the car is made of ABS plastic which is very ideal for the owners who wants to avoid visible scratches and dents. The prominent addition of side indicator lights on the wheel arches makes the look of the car very innovative. The car is available in four colors. They are black jungle, blue sky, red energy and city citrus.
This two door TH!NK City is able to accommodate two people comfortably but buyers are given the option of cramming two children in the back seat. The interior is equipped with instruments those are very easy to read. The rear hatch glass allows the driver to see right down to the bumper of the car behind while reversing.
According to the record until May 2010, TH!NK City is one of the three crash tested and highway certified electric cars of the world. The door frames of this car has ultra high tensile side impact beam along with the high performance aluminum space frame and roof crush protection. It has features like dual airbags, seat belt pretensions, seat belt load limiters, art seat belt system, IsoFix child restraints system, passenger air bag off switch and interior off switch that cuts off all power if any accident occurs.
TH!NK City is presently on sale in some of the European countries like Norway, Austria, the Netherlands and Switzerland. Without optional features the basic car is priced NOK 244,000 in Norway which is equivalent to around $38,000 in US, €30,00 or £25,400 in UK.
