Yogurt is one of the foods that is used by people all over the world and also liked by people around the world. Other than being like by people around the world, it also has many health benefits. These health benefits are because of the presence of calcium, protein and various vitamins present in the yoghurt.

The many health benefits of yoghurt start with the fact that yoghurt is one of the major sources of natural defense s for the body. This is because of the constituents of yoghurt. The yoghurt has many living microorganisms living in it. These micro organisms also play a major role in providing the health benefits related to yoghurt. Yoghurt can be in three different forms. One is the regular yoghurt that is made from whole milk. The other is low fat yoghurt and the final type is the skimmed yoghurt.

The health benefits of yoghurt are :

1. Osteoporosis:


Yoghurt helps to prevent osteoporosis in people because of the presence of various minerals like phosphorus. People who are at a risk of getting osteoporosis like old people and women above 50 years of age will benefit from having at least one serving of yoghurt each day.
2. Cancer: There are also reports of yoghurt helping to reduce the risk of cancers present in people.

3. Reduces cholesterol:

There is a reduction of cholesterol in people who regularly eat yoghurt as part of the diet. This is especially true for people who eat yoghurt made from skimmed milk. This reduction of cholesterol helps to prevent various other complications to the health that is caused by increased cholesterol in the body.

4. Reduces hypertension:

Regular consumption of yoghurt helps to prevent the increase in hypertension. This reduced risk of hypertension in those who regularly consume yoghurt helps to also prevent various other complications of hypertension including diseases like cardiac problems and also stroke.

5. Boosts immunity:

Another health benefit of yoghurt is that it helps to boost the immunity of the person who regularly consumes it. The increased immunity helps to prevent the various kinds of infection from occurring. This includes candida infections in a person.

6. Skin problems:

Yoghurt that is applied to the hair and skin can prevent many of the skin diseases and also hair ailments. This is a very important health benefit because many people have dark circles and other skin problems that can be treated with yoghurt.

Methods of eating yoghurt

The best method of consuming yoghurt is to make it into salads along with many vegetables. This gives much more health benefits because of the vitamins and minerals present in the yoghurt and the vegetables. Yoghurt can also be used to marinate many foods which are to be cooked. These are some of the many methods of using yoghurt.

These are some of the most important health benefits of consuming yoghurt regularly as part of the diet. Yoghurt can be easily made at home and also bought from the shops to be consumed.
