Women of IndiaBY: den | Category: Women | Post Date: 2008-05-31
The olden days are gone when women were supposed to stay at home behind the house walls hiding from every one, a victim of social evils like sati and purdah. The time has changed and also the WOMEN OF INDIA, but one thing which time could not change is the thinking of the other gender of the society (THE MEN). Although this is the 21st century but men still think that women are to be kept at home, they should not go out and the icing on the cake is when the modern era girls who wear skirts and tops are held responsible for the pitiful acts that happen to them like molestation. How can any one say this, yes it's true that the boys do get excited by seeing those girls, but what was the fault of 4 years old Geeta who was gang raped in U.P. So, now i understand that the poor little girl was not wearing a Saree but a frock, and what about the poor Veena in Bihar who was victimised by the man who she would have thought would give her the protection from all evils in the promises of RAKHI... (Her cousin brother). The blame of such acts come on the parents of these girls, and what about the parents of the boys? If the girls have been given the freedom by her parents to wear minis and skirts have the boys been given the freedom to committ such crimes against as they feel like? Do your parents tell you this? Then why not the feeling comes for your own sister and even your girlfriend. A boy's sister should look the best has to wear the best clothes and if any one comments on her then the person is gone. If the clothes are the sole responsible for this evil act then why doesn't the excitement come on seeing your own sister or girlfriend? but I think it does we have an example in the above paragraph where Veena was molested by her own brother. Why is the question being raised on the dresses of women yes they have started wearing western dresses but have started only in the 19th or 20th century but the men who here are shouting out on tradition and Indian dresses have forgotten that men in India have actually long lost their own values. Is pant shirt or jeans and t-shirt INDIAN? NO !! , then why don't the men go to your offices dressed up like LAL BAHDUR SHASTRI in a dhoti and kurta or may be a Pajama and kurta or wearing khadi, no they won't, because its not trendy and come on jeans are so comfortable. It has actually been said correctly that a thing of the museum if left open commonly would loose its value, the women who were preserved inside the house have lost their value once they came out of the houses but what about the men. From the very beginning they are out, in common whats the value of men, and what right do men who have no value possess on the women who actually are the gem of the society ! women are not safe today -Her father protects ( murders) her in childhood, her husband protects(molests her on the first night) (her) in youth, and her sons (leaves her for his girlfriend) protect (her) in old age; a woman is (ALWAYS) never fit for independence- in this society where men have lost all their social values....and the dharmshastras have changed. It is not the women who have spoiled the Indian society but its the men who are actually responsible for the social crimes. The girls are not to be blamed but the men need to look into their own hearts and see their souls, then the answer will come who is pious and who not.
