Let us start from the scratch. You often wonder how people can make friends with strangers. It's not very easy, of course! But if you try sincerely you can make a lot of friends. And I don't give you a false feeling that you can do it overnight. It is a gradual process which needs a lot of your attention certain behavioural aspects that influence the people around. You should be very careful, too.

As I said earlier, it will take quite some time, say, months to years depending on what kind of people you are dealing with and how promising your efforts are. Let's discuss what you can do to make this happen.

1. Being criticised is what no one welcomes. Hence NEVER CRITICIZE anyone who you want to make friends with.

2. People never accept NEGATIVE COMMENTS being made about them. So do not do that.

3. COMPLIMENT THE PEOPLE who you want to make friends with; but should I say that you should be cautious to make it look honest.

4. MENTION THE QUALITIES you like in them. Show eagerness and interest to talk about their qualities.

5. LISTEN TO PEOPLE without breaking in the middle. People like those who listen to them patiently.

6. ASK ABOUT THEIR LIKES AND DISLIKES. Keep talking about the likes and dislikes of the people. Now and then ask them some curious questions to make them talk a lot about them.

7. There is no one in this materialistic world who doesn't like their name. Everyone's name is sweet. They enjoy their name being pronounced by others. So keep using their names as much as possible. Your effort is almost reduced to 50%

8. KEEP IN TOUCH WITH THEM. If you forget them they forget you soon.

9. TAKE INITIATIVE. Don't expect others to start the conversation. Break the silence and take initiative. Be first to start the conversation. Silence doesn't pay. Moreover it increases the gap which is not at all welcome.

10. Last but not least, be honest, sincere and never make any promise that you can't keep.

The above are only suggestions regarding making friends with someone. But as you go along doing that you find new ways to have a better interaction with people. Hope you make most of this article. ALL THE BEST IN YOUR EFFORTS.
