There is no doubt in the fact that the English Premier League is the most watched football league in the world. It is the enthusiasm, excitement, and the mixed emotions which attracts its audience every week. Each team in the Premier League has a different ambition; one team might be fighting to stay in the league, while the other might be trying to invade Europe. At the peak, teams are fighting hard to earn a Champions league spot and steal it away from the so called -Big four-.

This year Aston Villa are giving Arsenal a real hard time, and are looking set to actually find a place in Europe's grand tournament . Right on top of the pack, teams such as Man Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool are having a heck of a dogfight to land the title itself. The reason for the tight scenario is of course that the underdogs are snatching points from them every now and then. This also shows how the Barclays Premier League is different and unique compared to other leagues, which have less ‘upsets' compared to the Barclays Premier League, where any team can beat another.

The Premier League also has some of the world's best players, such as Ronaldo, Torres. Gerrard, Rooney, Robinho and well there are too many to mention really! Besides these world class players, there are many talented players who have a grand stage set for them to shine in.

The Spanish La liga and Italian Serie A are without doubt also great leagues, and have some of the greatest football teams and players on the planet, but they are finding it a great challenge to match the English. One such example was that three of the four teams that got to the Champions League Semi-Finals were English, and then there was the all-English final, proving that the English Premier League has the top teams in Europe.

The teams in the Italian Serie A have always been criticized for having too many aged players, and the Serie A itself, has been widely termed as a -Retirement Ground- for football players, due to this very reason. In Spain, though, recent history proves that the title race is always between only two teams, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

We have to wait and see whether this year the teams from outside England can put up a challenge against the English, with Barcelona likely to lead their way considering their blistering form so far this season.

The reasons behind the Premier League's successes are countless, but these successes come with expectations. Every weekend, millions of viewers from all over the world tune into the television channels broadcasting the League matches in their regions, expecting to see good performances from their favorite teams. In May, the world will eagerly anticipate the final standings of the Premier League with which mixed emotions, whether extremely happy or painfully sad, will flow.
