WHO IS A FOOL? A notable and corrupt adage coin in the society is that a fool at forty is a fool forever, this has escalated the present rat race for those below forty years to acquire everything at all cost, not to fall short of the adage. Song writers of many decades echo same, modern promiscuous musicians and comic jokers on television agreed on this adage, therefore they encourage the youths to be on a fast lane for their heart desires and lust for vanity. If at forty years a man has no job, no house, no clothes, no any means of livelihood, such man is labeled as a fool. This worldly axiom is contrary to the word of God. Jehovah God is a patient God and God is interested in the prosperity of his children and the scripture also says -the foolish things of God are wiser than men-. The believer success and victory over the battles of life could face storm and circumstances, yet delay is not denier according to the scripture -though the vision may tarry but it must surely come to pass-. Christians by standard of the scripture are not limited by the experience of life neither is there any barrier to the benefits that accrue to them through the immeasurable grace of God. Believers and the Christians fold are not subject to the standard of the world even at forty years because of the mysterious ways of God. the scripture says -the ways of God are no t the ways of man- Isaiah 55:8. Genuine believers must receive godly benefits and gifts at the appointed time. Categories of Fools According To The Scriptures a. Adherent of life without God: This group of unbelievers practice all forms of abominable act under the sun. It include secret societies, occult, ancestral worship, ancient and mystical practice, image representation of God. In Psalm 14:1 -the fool hath said in his heart there his God-. the scripture referred to this group in Romans 1:25 saying -who changed the truth of God into lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the creator, who is blessed for ever, Amen. Romans 1:23 says -And changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things-. This category of fools believes in world without end, the second coming of Christ to them is mirage. b. Those whose eyes are in darkness (Eccl 2:14): This group uses their eyes to sin against God daily. The desires of the eyes open a wound in their spiritual life, example sinful pleasures, gluttony etc. These fools include all manner of evil dressing, prostitution, eyes of a fool lust in darkness. This group imbibes the Jezebel spirit, the devourer is partner with a fool. c. Despiser of wisdom: Anyone that despise the word of God is a fool because the wisdom from above will not be given unto him, arrogant spirit or a man without a teachable spirit cannot benefit from the word of God. In Heb. 12:8 -but if ye be without chastisement whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards and not sons. d. Those who are not rich toward God: This category have no regard for God in their possessions, no time or service towards the things of God, their business is their idol, and their soul is overtaken by abundant of possessions. The scripture says in Luke 12:21 - so is he that layeth up treasure for himself and he is not rich towards God-. see mMark 8:36. e. Those afflicted because of iniquity: Another category of fools in the Bible are, those afflicted through deliberate sin, transgression against the word of God, these categories are many in the church, they hear the word of God and rrefuse to keep it, they lack substance of the word and do not mix the word with of God with faith, this group can be liken to a man in the bush who saw the branch of the tree pointing towards his eyes and open his eyes wide to be blinded. This group is like the ostrich bird that feed on its own blood, their desires and consumption is their own destruction it includes drunkenness, smoking, gluttony, fornication, masturbation, stealing etc see Galatians 5:19. f. Laziness (Eccl 4:5): Laziness is another nature in man that the scripture ascribe as fools. From the days of Adam and Eve, God gave them the Garden of Eden to tend, dress and labour to make it beautiful and grow. Today too many people fold their hands expecting manna from heaven when all blessings, favour of God are upon the hands of believers. Who Is A Fool According to The Gospel? The world standard certifies any man who does not possess the things of life particularly houses, car, wives. Children, position, membership of secret societies, traditional titles, godfather's and ancestral worship for family protection at the age of forty years is regarded as a fool. However scriptural facts negate world standard and it is true that the victory over the battles of life is more in maturity in the word of God, rather than haste, impatience to acquire that entire sum up the axiom. A -fool- therefore, is unbelief and disobedience to the word of God. Conclusion of the whole Matter. Anyone who does not believe the word of God is a fool. The root of foolishness stem from hatred or dislike for the word of God, Jehovah prescribe his own standard from the beginning of the world, the argument in some quarters that times have change is irrelevant as the word of God do not change with times. Only those who obey the word of God will be cover by grace and forgiveness, the disobedient will remain as fools like Satan and its host of agents.
