Salads can be made with different vegetables. It can be made creatively using different garnishing items. Salads are a part of a good course of lunch or dinner. The reason is that salads are nourishing and also good for the health. They can have vegetables like tomatoes, cauliflower, beetroot, asparagus, turnip and carrots. The different vegetables present in the salad helps to give many benefits to the person who eats these salads.

Carrots: Carrots have real food value. They need to be finely grated and moistened slightly. Adding a little salt and lemon juice will increase their taste. It will make a good salad by itself. Adding a little minced celery and onion will increase the taste.

Pepper, vinegar and other spices can be added to the salads to increase the taste. These spices can be ground as powder and sprinkled on the salad or it can be arranged neatly. Chinese cabbage that is shredded and served can make a wonderful salad. Onions should be minced and can be moistened with peanut butter to increase the taste. Cucumbers in a salad can have a cooling effect. If the cucumbers have to be part of the salad, they should not be made to lie after being cut, as it will make the cucumber leathery.

Health benefits of salads:

1. Vitamins:
Each of the vegetables has a different vitamin that is useful for the functioning of the body. Tomatoes and green lettuce are the vegetables that have a large amount of vitamins. To be healthy, a person should optimally eat a large serving of some green vegetable. Salads are a good source of eating vegetables to keep a person healthy.

2. Digestion: All the salads that are a combination of vegetables like tomatoes, onions and lettuce should be chopped fine. These are rich in organic salts that help in peristaltic movements and also in increased digestion.

3. Groundnuts can be added to some salads. These nuts are a good source of energy. They also act as appetizers.

4. The vegetables have a large amount of fibre that helps to reduce the constipation.

5. All the vegetables used in the salads are natural foods with no seasoning. This makes the food healthier than the unhealthy artificial foods that are eaten regularly.

6. Salads are filling. They are also eaten as part of the meal. So the amount of other food consumed comes down. This helps to decrease obesity. So many weight reduction programs use salads as part of their diet.

7. Since salads are filled with vegetables that are natural foods, the risk of heart attacks and cancer decrease on regular consumption of salads.

Since salads are natural foods and have many health benefits, salads should be a part of every meal. This will keep a person healthy as well as fit. It prevents various diseases like cardiac problems and also helps in weight reduction
