Various types of heart diseases that can affect a person

The common cause of heart disease is a bloc in the heart because of the presence of the atherosclerotic plaque that is formed in the heart. This is the condition that most people are aware of. There are also various other condition of the heart that can cause damage to the heart. These conditions are usually ignored by most people. The knowledge about these conditions are also very less in the general population. The possible reasons for this could be because of the fact that when a person is affected by atherosclerosis, then the person knows all about it because it is a preventable condition. Most of the other heart problems are not preventable because they are usually congenital in nature.

The various heart diseases that can affect a person are:

1. Rheumatic heart diseases:

This is one of the common causes of heart problems. This starts with the person having fever and joint pains and it is often mistaken for other kind of rheumatic problems. Joint pains in this disease condition are often confused with arthritic pain and this can lead to a delay in the treatment of the heart disease. This can become fatal in some people.

2. Diseases of the heart chambers:

The person can have diseases that affect the various chambers of the heart. The human heart has four chambers and the blood flows in a particular method in the chambers. When the person has various diseases of the heart chambers, the mixing of the oxygenated and deoxygenated blood can occur leading to various diseases.

3. Diseases of the heart valves:

Heart valves are very important for the person to have a good heart that is very efficient. If the person has a heart where the valves are not functioning properly, then there will be backflow through the valves. This causes the blood to flow back to where it came from. This leads to excessive stress on the heart muscles to again pump the blood. This can be very severe and needs either surgical repair of the heart valves or replacing the faulty valves with a prosthetic valve.

4. Disease of the heart muscle:

The heart muscle is a muscle that is strong and contracts without rest. If the muscle has any developmental problems, then the person will have weakness for the heart and inefficiency leading to various problems.

5. Congenital diseases:

There are various congenital heart diseases that cause the person to have severe problems. The heart problem starts when the child is born and it becomes magnified as the child grows. There are different types of these congenital diseases that can affect the parts of the heart as mentioned already.

These are some of the most common heart diseases that can occur in a person. The person can have heart diseases in any of these areas of the heart as mentioned above. This causes severe problems that can even be fatal in some people; especially if the treatment is not initiated early enough. Health education and counseling are also important to treat the condition.
