Various reasons why NRI's are returning to IndiaBY: David Prakash Kumar | Category: India | Post Date: 2010-01-16
In the past few years, it has been seen that there are millions of Indians are returning from various countries back to their country of origin. There are various reasons for the return of the people. The return of people from other countries has some advantages and also some disadvantages to the economy.
The reasons for the return of the Indians from other countries back to India are:
1. Lack of jobs:
The recession and the various losses of jobs in the countries around the world have forced thousands of Indians to come back to India each year. Many of these people who were in the United States and also in the Middle Eastern countries have lost their jobs. This has actually forced them to come back to India in search for a job. This has also helped them to stay in India with their families. This is the primary reason for most of the Non resident Indians to come back to India.
2. India's growth potential:
The growth potential of India has been on a steady rise. In fact the GDP of India is all set to grow when almost even the developed economies are having GDP's that are static. The growth of India's GDP means that the country will have a booming economy. This will raise the income that people earn in India. It is also sure to be able to make the people think twice about returning back to their original places of work, when they have so much chance of earning money in India itself. This is the second most important reason for the non resident Indians returning to India.
3. The term of contract gets over:
There are many people who have been on a term appointment in various countries and they all return to India when their term is over. This makes them to come back to India and live here. These people would have earned and also saved enough money to secure their future. This money that has been saved is used to live life to the fullest. This is another of the important reasons for people returning to India.
There is another reason for people returning back to India from the place where they were working in. One of the important reasons is this that the person working in those countries may get sick and return to India because of their inability to work. It can also be due to the fact that the sick person comes to India to get better treatment at a lesser cost. The person working in the other countries may also return back to India so that they can take care of their sick family members.
These are some of the most important reasons for people who have been working in various countries around the world to be returning to India in the past few years. This is in one way a good sign because it tells of the confidence of the people of India in the country's growth potential.
