Children are very weak and they depend on their parents for a lot of their needs. Children in the families of abusive parents or parents who do not have time to take care of their children are more prone to various kinds of attention seeking disorders and also stress disorders. Stammering is one of the conditions where there may be no other cause except the fear or stress in the child. There are various methods of making your child from stammering and this article is going to give a list of methods that will make your child stop stammering if there is no inherent condition that causes the child to stammer.

Fearlessness:

The child should not be scared as the fear will increase the stammering in the child. In fact many children start stammering because of the fear that they have of various things. Some children may be scared of their parents and other children may be scared of the pets in their house or other animals. Some kids may be scared of the dark. Whatever the reason for the fear in the children, the fear can cause stammering. So parents should be very careful to avoid putting their child in a situation where they can be scared.

Stress decrease:

A decrease in the stress levels of the child will help the child to have a decrease in the amount of stammering. In fact over a period of time, it can even completely stop the stammering in the child. These days the expectations of the parents are more and the children are made to work real hard from a very young age. This causes the child to be under a lot of stress to perform or event to act normal. This may cause a decrease in the confidence in the child and this lack of confidence due to the excessive stress can make the child to stammer a lot. This is in fact the most common cause of stammering in children.

Language teaching:

There are a lot of people who are of various cultures, but they all live together by getting married to each other. This inter racial and inter cultural marriages have caused the children to be able to pick up a few words from each of these languages and the parents get excited about this and they start coaching the children to start talking in the language that they want them to learn. This causes a lot of pressure on the child.

These are some of the causes of stammering in children that can be prevented by doing some modification in the method of bringing up the child. The child can also have stammering because of some reason that cannot be modified very easily and all these children should be evaluated by a speech therapist or a physician and then appropriate treatment should be undertaken. In the young age when the child is stammering, adequate speech therapy will help to make the child be normal again as far as the speech is concerned.
