Vegan diet or vegetarian diet is common around the world. There are people who love vegan diet. These people o not consume meat that is got from any animal. They usually do not eat fish and eggs. People who eat this diet are called vegans or vegetarians. Vegan diet or a vegetarian diet is considered to be boring by people who eat meat. Actually there are somany different fruits and vegetales that can be consumed by a person on a vegan diet that they seldom get bored of eating the same kin of food. The various health benefits of being o a vegan or vegetarian diet are listed in this article. 1. Prevention of diseases: One of the first and fore most benmefits of becoming a vegan is the ability of the person to become healthy and have reduced number of diseases. There is a reduction in the number of various chronic as well as acute diseases. Some of the common diseases that are prevented by eating a vegan diet are strokes, heart attacks, eye diseases, bone and bone related problems. This decrease in the incidnece of the diseases mentioned above are due to the various substances that are present in the vegetables and fruits. The anti oxidants, vitamins, proteins and minerals in the food that vegetarian people consume help to prevent the occurrence of diseases. 2. Physical fitness: People who are on a vegetarian diet have been found to be more physicaly fit. There is a reduced incidence of obesity in people who are on a diet of plant based foods. The fat that is seen in animal based foods help to increase the cholesterol and fat deposits in the body of a person leading to obesity.Those who eat plant based food are healthier and also have more chance of reducing the weight. They are also physically more active. 3. Balanced diet: People who are on a vegan diet are the ones who get a balanced nutrition. This is because of the rpesence of various vitamins, minerals and proteins in plant based foods. Fruits and vegetables are also good sources of various other substances that are health benefiting in nature. Thu vegetarian diet can provide a balanced diet to those who consume them. 4. Other benefits: There are various other health related benefits of becoming a vegan. These include a decreased risk of infection from various animal based diseases. In the recent past, there have been many instances of diseases that are animal related. These include mad cow disease, bird flu, swine flu and other such diseases. The risk of getting some of these diseases can be reduced if people are vegan. There is also a reduced risk of getting salmonella infection and other infection that can be got from eating animal based foods that are not properly cooked. These are some of the amazing health benefits of going vegan. The physcial benefits and disease prevetion aspects of a vegetarian diet have made more people to stick to this kind of diet.
