Every parent and the child will have some sort of problems as the child grows up. This is natural and normal. Only a very few families go on without any problems. The problems are mainly because of the adolescent age that the children pass through. Other than this age, there can be times when there can be deeper issues that cause the discontent and quarrels between parents and children

There are simple tips to be a good parent to your child and prevent these problems. The parents are the cause of almost al the troubles because when the child is born, it is born with a clean heart and soul. The parents are the ones who mould the child as it grows with their behavior. If the parents shout at each other, the child will also grow up and shout at them one day. This is the reason why parents are the cause of problems.

The various tips that will help you to be a good parent to your child are listed below:

1. Never punish unnecessarily:

This is a golden rule. This has to be followed with the utmost care. This is because when a child is punished unnecessarily, the child will not realize why it is getting punished and the correlation between a mistake and a punishment is lost. Once this happens, the child may never really understand that it should not do a mistake and it will be punished because even without making a mistake the child was punished.

2. Never shout:

When your child commits even a blunder, you can raise your voice in disapproval, but never lose control and shout at the child. This is a common mistake that many parents make. When you shout at the child, it usually does not realize the reason for the shouting. It is best to raise your voice and tell the child about the mistake that the child has done. This will prevent the child from doing the same thing again.

3. Do not hit your child:

If you want to be a good parent to your child, then you should not hit the child. By saying this I do not mean that you should not spank the child. Hitting is using any other object that can cause injury. Even when you spank the child, do it on the buttock or on the legs. Never spank the child on any other part of the body. And always have a valid reason when you spank the child.

4. Be consistent:

The parent should always be consistent in their punishment. When you have two children, if you punish one for a mistake, then you have to punish the other child also for the same mistake. Also even in the same child, if you punish for some mistake, the next time the child does the same mistake, give the same punishment. This will help to reinforce the idea that the particular activity leads to punishment and the child will stop doing that activity.
