Tips to write and excel as a writer:

Most of the people who are literate know how to write and a majority of this group would either have wanted to become a writer. Some of us have started writing either for fun or to earn money. But very few excel as writers. So who are the group of people who break out from the ‘want to' group to the group that finally makes it to publishing articles? What are the tips that help a person excel as a writer? Every budding writer who has not made it big would love to know the answer to this question.

The best way to start out as a writer is to write what you excel in. Most of us are part time writers. So we have a day job based on our educational qualification or based on our experience in doing a specific job. So that's the point to start out as a writer. Since we already excel in a certain field, it would be best to start writing about what you excel in. A bank manager can write about finance and business. A teacher can write on tips to manage kids or how to teach. A nurse can write about her profession, patients' psychology.

When starting to write what we excel in, one part of the writing is taken care of. You need not worry about the content as you know the subject. The only aspect you should be worried is about the language and presentation. Most publishers would be happy to publish on the internet if the content is good.

Once an article is published, it gives an impetus to write more and the language and style automatically improve over a period of time.

The next thing you can do is that you can read about current events from newspapers and websites and write them from your perspective. This will also help as people are bound to read about current events. The downside in this is that the event may not be relevant in a few weeks after you write.

These are just tips to get the new writers started. There are obviously more things to learn as a writer and new writers will learn them as they gain experience.
