The various benefits of a coconut tree

The coconut tree is a very important tree in many countries, especially those that have a seacoast. This is because the coconut trees are very easily grown on the banks of the various water bodies. The coconut tree is also very important economically for the people who have coconut farms. Each and every part of the coconut tree is useful and this is a very important aspect of the coconut tree. This article explains the various uses of the coconut tree and each of its parts.

The whole nut that is soaked and then planted in sandy areas usually propagates the coconut tree. It slowly grows into a tree. and then flowers.

1. Coconut leaves:

The coconut leaves are large and they are used by many people in different parts of the world for various things. Each of the leaf has a spine and this can be separated from the leaf by scraping. This is then collected and tied together and this forms a bunch. This bunch is then made into a broom that is used by people in many parts of India to sweep the insides and also the areas outside their houses. The rest of the leaves can be used for burning and as fuel. This is very important in the developing countries where people living below the poverty line have to depend on these kinds of fuel to cook their food. Many other people also use the coconut leaves that are made into a net like thing and this is used as roof for their huts.

2. Coconuts:

The coconut itself has many uses. The nuts that have matured well are used in cooking and are ground into a paste and cooked to prepare tasty dishes. The coconut is also ground into chutney. Other than this, some people as a snack also eat the coconut just like that. The coconut can also be dried and made into smaller pieces and then ground to make coconut oil. This coconut oil is again used for various purposes. This includes cooking and also to apply for the hair as coconut hair oil.

3. The coconut shell:

The shell of the coconut is also used to make various fancy items. The shell can also be used as fuel.

4. Tender coconuts:

Tender coconuts can be got when the coconut is not yet mature, but is only young. The nut is plucked and then the water inside the nut is drunk. This is a refreshing drink that makes a person feel good on drinking.

5. The trunk:

Even after the whole tree is dead, the trunk of the tree can be used for holding up houses as a beam. There are many houses in fact that are built on these strong trunks of the coconut trees.

These are some of the various uses that are got out of the coconut tree. Each and every part of the coconut tree can be used for various purposes. This is the reason for this plant being grown in many households and also in various farms. There are many countries that depend on their coconut farms for their socio economic stability.
