The Indian diva Rakhi Savant has always been in the lime light ever since the release of one of her first video songs "Pardesia" by T-Series. Rakhi Sawants swayamvar is a historical practice done in a modern way. In the olden days in India, Kings use to conduct swayamvars (Self choice of a spouse) for their daughters. There used to be competitions like shooting at a very minute target, winning against a fighter, solving the most difficult puzzles, winning chess games, best performance in the war etc. Who ever won in these arranged competitions was given the hand of the king and the Queens daughter. But only prince and people of royal family were allowed to participate in the "swayamvar". The general public was not allowed to compete in such swayamvars. Rakhi Sawant has always liked to be in news and has been known for being out spoken and creating issues. Affair and break up with her ex-boyfriend was big news. Break up with her family members was also a big news. Rakhi justifies herself by saying that everything she did was right and fair. Even in the movies, she is known for exposing and for item dances. One should really appreciate her for her talent. In her swayamvar, she accepted the invitations from the public. There were hundreds of proposals for her. Out of those, she selected fifteen candidates for the reality show on NDTV with the name "Rakhi swayamvar". She has really shown talent and wittiness in judging them. Finally she chose three people out of best fifteen. It was on second August she has chose Toronto based Elesh Parujanwala as her life partner. It is believed that he is a non-resident Indian doing business in Mumbai but he has now decided to settle in India for Rakhi Sawant. There was a glamorous ceremony at Hotel Leela Kempinski in Mumbai on August 3 2009. It is also believed that Rakhi was married once before also in 2004. The marriage did not last for more than a few months, we hope this one will last for ever.
