The many health benefits that water melons offer you!

Watermelon is a delicious fruit. There can be very few people who do not like watermelon. They are available all over the world. They are luscious and great to eat. They are also very good for a person's health. There are many health benefits that a person can get by eating these watermelons.

The various health benefits of watermelon are:

1. Antioxidants:

Watermelon is very rich in various antioxidants. These antioxidants are very helpful for the body. The antioxidants in various foods that we take help to reduce the amount of free radicals in the body. The free radicals can cause mutation of the cells of the body leading to cancer. So these antioxidants help to prevent various types of cancers by neutralizing these free radicals.

2. Vitamins:
Watermelons are a very rich source of Vitamins. They contain both Vitamin and Vitamin C. There is also a high amount of beta-carotene in the fruit. These vitamins help in the regular body functioning. Watermelon is also a rich source of Vitamin B. These vitamins that are present help to provide energy to the person in various activities.

3. Water content:
The high water content that is present in watermelons help to make a person feel less hungry. As a person eats more watermelon, the hunger is lost with minimal calorie intake. This in turn helps the person not to eat too much food and will prevent in reducing obesity. This is another health benefit that is got with the regular intake of water melon.

4. Lycopene:
This is one of the most important substances that are present in the watermelon. It accounts for many of the health benefits that are related to watermelons. The lycopene is an antioxidant. This neutralizes the free radicals that cause the cause the cholesterol to stick to the coronary arteries. This neutralizing of the free radicals prevents heart attacks. It also gives the bright red color that is present in the fruits.

5. Minerals:
Watermelons also contain minerals like Sodium and potassium. These minerals are usually lost through perspiration. These minerals are replaced in the body when we eat watermelons. This is another important health benefit because these minerals are essential if a person has to be healthy. Watermelons also have far more lycopene than tomatoes.

6. Different cancers prevented: Colon cancer and prostrate cancer are prevented when a person eats water melon regularly.

7. Eye problems:
Eating water melons regularly will help to prevent eye problems that occur. One of the main eye problems that is prevented by regular consumption of water melon is age related macular degeneration. In fact water melon is considered to be more beneficial to the eye than carrots that were always thought to be the best natural food to keep the eyes healthy.

The various nutrients in the watermelon provide the many health benefits that it offers to those who eat them. The vitamins and minerals that are present in the water melon are also very essential for healthy functioning of the body. Regular consumption of water melons are necessary to benefit from them. Each day eating a portion of water melon will help in preventing cancer and other problems.
