The interesting reasons why every person should avoid animal based foods

Animal based foods are the common food that is consumed around the world. Very few people consume a vegan diet. In the last few decades, the number of people who are taking to veganism has been increasing. The knowledge regarding various constituents of animal and plant based foods have taken center stage. People have learnt the advantages and health benefits related to plant based foods and the disadvantages of animal based foods.

Reasons for avoiding animal based foods:

1. Cholesterol:


The animal based foods are the main reason for the increased levels of cholesterol. Animal based foods have more fat that can get deposited n the arteries of the body. This cholesterol can cause diseases like heart attacks and other cardiac problems. This is one of the important reasons for avoiding animal based foods. Eggs are very commonly said to have a lot of cholesterol.

2. Cancer:

Animal based foods are also devoid of the antioxidants that are present in the plant based foods. There is a higher chance of a person eating animal based foods to get cancer.

3. General health and fitness:

A person who eats food that contains fruits and vegetables will help to increase the fitness levels of a person. People who eat meat and other products that are animal based have a higher chance of becoming obese.

4. Animal protein:

Animal protein is got by the individual if they eat meat, but this protein is quite unhealthy for the person when compared to the protein that is got by the person when they eat plant based food.

5. Dairy products:

Thousands of people suffer from lactose intolerance. This causes lack of digestion of dairy products. People who have lactose intolerance will have gasto intestinal problems due to the indigestion of the milk and milk based products. This is another reason to avoid animal based foods.

6. Risk of disease:

There is a risk of salmonella infection if a person eats non vegetarian diet that is not cooked really well. This risk of disease should deter people from taking a diet that is animal based. E.coli infection is another cause of disease as it can cause bloody diarrhoea. E.coli infection can occur due to the consumption of contaminated meat.

7. Fish risks:

Fish which has many health benefits for the person can also pose some risks. This is because of the pollution of the environment and the high levels of mercury in the fish. This high level of mercury can cause many risks for disease

These are the many reasons for a person to avoid eating animal based foods. Though there are some benefits of eating animal based products, the ill effects outweigh the benefits. This has to be remembered when people opt to eat a non vegetarian diet. Those who are at a high risk of cardiac diseases and those who suffer from increased blood pressure or high cholesterol should be on a plant based diet as animal based diets can increase the severity of their diseases.
