Raisins are one of the commonly used dried fruits. They are seen in various colors from green, black to golden color. They are used in baking cakes and also cookies. They are used to add color and taste to these foods, but many people do not really eat it for its health benefits. This is because almost 99% of the population is ignorant of the health benefits related to raisins.

Raisins help in preventing, treating and even curing various diseases. The most common diseases that can be prevented or treated with raisins are constipation, eye problems, dental problems and osteoporosis. Raisins are also used effectively to reduce weight of a person. People have also been using raisins to treat conditions like anemia, fever and sexual weakness.

Raisins are basically grapes that have been dried. This is the reason for the various colors in which raisins are seen. The raisins have many health benefits as mentioned already. These health benefits are explained in detail below.
1. Constipation: Raisins help to relieve constipation. This is mainly because of the presence of the fiber that is present in the dried grapes. The fiber absorbs the water and helps to relieve constipation. This is one of the major and most important health benefits of raisins.

2. Obesity: Raisins have been used widely around the world to reduce obesity. It is a natural food that helps to control obesity in many ways. The rich fiber present in raisins helps to decrease hunger and also to add bulk to the food eaten. This reduces the weight of the individual over a period of time.

3. Acidity: Heartburn or acidity as it is commonly known is a major problem that faces many people. In fact if left untreated, heartburn can even lead to carcinoma. Raisins help to prevent heart burn

4. Anemia: The iron rich raisins are an ideal treatment for those who suffer from either chronic or acute anemia. Raisins also contain Copper which plays a major role in producing Red blood cells. This is another important and useful health benefit of raisins.

5. Eye problems: The presence of Vitamin-A, A-Beta Carotene and A-Carotenoid in raisins play a role in preventing ocular or eye problems. Regular intake of raisins help to maintain good eye sight. Raisins also help to prevent macular degeneration that is usually an age related problem. Raisins can prevent this common problem.

6. Bone and bone health: Raisins also play an important role in bone health. This is because of the presence of Calcium and Boron. These are elements that play a major role in bone mineralization. So raisins have an important role in bone health. This is another major health benefit that can be got by eating raisins regularly.

7. Cancer: The presence of various other substances in raisins also plays a role in preventing cancer. Eating raisins regularly can prevent various cancers like colon cancer.

8. Organic Raisins: Raisins that are made from organic grapes have a more important role in giving these health benefits than raisins that are made from non-organic methods. So purchasing organic raisins will be more useful in their health benefits.
