The common causes for heart disease to occur

Heart disease is a condition that does not occur all by itself. This is because the heart of a human is designed to beat continuously for a long time. A person has a heart that is strong and healthy at birth, usually. This slowly gets damaged as the person gets older because of the lack of care that is provided by the person. There are also various other causes that can cause the person to have heart attack

This article lists the various factors that can cause the person to have diseases of the heart. Some of them, in fact most of them are preventable conditions and lie in the lifestyle modifications that a person is able to do to maintain good health for the heart.

1. Diabetes:

Diabetes is a disease that causes the heart disease in people. It is related because when the person has diabetes, the arteries of the body that carry blood to the heart are all affected and they become inefficient. This causes the person to have risk of heart attack. The person can also have silent myocardial infarction if the person has diabetes. This is because the person with diabetes has nerve damage, it causes the person to have no pain and this is the reason it is called as silent myocardial infarction.

2. Hypertension:

The person who has increased blood pressure that is also called as hypertension can have the blood exerting more force on the walls of the artery. This excessive force of the blood causes the heart muscles to work more. There can also be a decreased flow of blood in the arteries and this can cause excessive load on the heart. All these effects of hypertension can cause the person to have heart diseases.

3. Obesity:

Obesity occurs when the person has a body mass index that is more than 30. Once a person has been identified to be obese, regular exercises and diet are essential to decrease the obesity because if this is not done, the person will surely get heart disease and the most common heart disease would be atherosclerosis.

4. Smoking:

Smoking is another condition that can increase the risk of the person getting heart disease. This is because the smoking and the formation of atherosclerosis are linked and these people are sure to get heart disease if they do not reduce and stop their smoking. The risk of heart attack increases if the person smokes more cigarettes.

5. Alcoholism:

Though certain researches suggest that small amounts of alcohol will help to reduce the risk of heart attacks, there is no person who stops with small amounts. Most people who drink do not do so in moderation. This causes the person to drink more and this increases the calorie intake and also causes heart attacks.

These are the various causes for a person to get a heart attack. Reducing these risk factors will help to reduce the chance of the person getting a heart attack.
