The responsibility of the Media is to update people about informative things and current affairs. No Doubt that in terms of news, geographical, and scientific updates the Media keeps people updated about the facts, but there are many negative effects of Media on the society. Below are some of the negative effects of Media 1. Crime stories tempt innocent children to follow them. A six years old boy in Kerala tried to murder his younger brother by looking at a crime story on a channel. But due to the fear of parents he hid himself under the car. When parents saw the badly injured younger child, they put him the car and moved car to immediately take him to hospital. Elder child died on the spot. Younger boy died in hospital. 2. The adult programs on the Media are very much in the reach of children. It makes children to go anti-social activities. There was an incident that a fourteen year old boy had raped his colleague at school. This would be because of the temptation by the TV Media. 3. Media is also famous to spread the fake news, rumors or make small incidents sensational. It creates unnecessary frustration amongst the public. There was news that Tsunami arrives on July 22nd. The news had spread across the Media and over the internet. But there was no incident. But the news has brought of lot of tension among the people. 4. Media is also famous for exaggerating the news on violation and it makes people to get tempted to attack back on the community to which, so called the person who commits such violation belongs to. Media is just supposed to broadcast the news as is. The exaggeration is to get the popularity to their channels or to the news papers, but it can create very dangerous situations in the society. Media liberally uses exaggerated words, meaning of some you can only find in the dictionary.
