Low density lipoprotein is also called as the bad cholesterol because it causes the increase in cardiac problems. This cholesterol increases when a person follows certain food habits. There are many people who have high levels of this cholesterol that they are at very high risk of getting heart disease. There are many methods of reducing the levels of the Low density Lipoprotein. These methods include a few natural methods and also medications.

Medications:

There are various medications that are available and will help to reduce the Low density Lipoprotein. All these medications have to be ingested only on the pre script ion of these medicines by a registered physician. This is because eating them without adequate indications can cause various side effects in the person. These include complications that can cause further damage to the body of the person.

Natural remedies to lower Low density Lipoprotein:

1. Exercise:
Exercise is one of the very important methods of preventing an increase in the levels of Low density Lipoprotein. In fact exercise can lower the Low density Lipoprotein in the body. This is very useful and simple. It is also natural. People who are obese will have a high level of Low density Lipoprotein. When the patient does a lot of exercise, it maintains the weight of the person and also helps to control the Low density Lipoprotein.

2. Fish: Fish is one of the important additions to the diet that can help to control the levels of Low density Lipoprotein by reducing it. The omega 3 fatty acids present in the sea fish help to control and lower the levels of Low density Lipoprotein.

3. Nuts and oils: Though various nuts and oils are considered to be fattening and are considered to be untouchable to person who is trying to reduce the levels of the Low density Lipoprotein, certain food like almonds and other nuts actually help in reducing the levels of Low density Lipoprotein. Oils such as soy oil and olive oil also have the same effect on the body. So these foods can be consumed as part of the diet.

4. Other foods to be avoided: Diet modification plays a very major role in the reduction of Low density Lipoprotein in a person. The foods that should be avoided include refined foods that have a large amount of sugar content. This will mean that refined sugars and any packaged food that has a lot of preservatives added may not be good for the health for a person who is trying to decrease the levels of Low density Lipoprotein.

5. Foods that can be consumed: The foods that can be consumed by the person who wants to decrease the levels of Low density Lipoprotein are whole wheat breads and food that is made out of whole wheat grains. The person can also eat vegetables and fruits in large quantities as they will help to decrease the risk of high Low density Lipoprotein.

These are the various methods in which a person with high levels of the bad cholesterol can reduce the levels by modifying lifestyle including changes to the food habits and exercise.
