Simple methods to ensure proper working of your computer

Computers are machines that can break down very easily if not handled with care. There are a few methods presented in this article, which when followed will ensure the proper working of the computer. The connections should all be secure and good which is the basic requirement for a computer to work well.

1. The following connections should not be missing or loose.

a. The computer should be connected to the appropriate power source securely.
b. The Visual display unit is connected either directly to the power source or through the system to the power source.
c. The printer should be connected to the power source.
d. The key board should be connected to the system through a coiled cord and round socket in old models and by a USB in recent models

2. Keep a dust free atmosphere near the computer and cover the computer properly after use. All parts of the computer should be covered including the printer, monitor, external disks. This will ensure that the computer works properly and will also increase the life of the computer.

3. Avoid taking coffee or tea to the working place where a computer is present. Any accidental spoiling of any liquid will cause permanent damage. Even a small drop falling on the keyboard or any other part can cause damage.

4. The keyboard is better dusted with a vacuum cleaner, or at least a cloth. Do not use water or other liquids as they can damage the computer permanently.

5. When the computer is not in use, switch the monitor and computer. The monitors especially have ‘tube life time'. The more they are used, the lesser they will last.

6. Powering the system on immediately after switching it off should be avoided to prevent damage to the system and also to the data on the computer. So give adequate time for the computer before switching it on again to ensure proper working of the computer.

7. Printers may get heated up vary quickly. Give them sufficient time between sessions. This is true for all kinds of printers, unless specified otherwise by the company.

8. Unauthorized and pirated software can cause damage to the system. They can have viruses that can spoil the computer. The software that is downloaded from the internet is usually not safe. These can cause the virus to cause permanent damage to the computer. Avoid using these software to ensure proper working of your computer.

These are the simple methods that can be followed to ensure that the proper working of your computer.
