Title: Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls.
Written By: Shereen Rizvi

Religion and Spirituality: People often mingle the two words religion and spirituality but in reality they are two different paths to reach the same destination.

Religion is an institution established by man while spirituality is defined by God, in other words Religion is mudane while spirituality is divine.

Spirituality is about inquiring, questioning the various dogmas laid down by the religion.

Religion is giving answers to these questions on the crux of age old beliefs.

Beliefs that were passed from one generation to another without giving a second thought.

Spirituality is a force that binds the people while Religion has always distributed us.

History has always shown that Religion is to kill, hate, fast to please their Gods, to suppress the underdogs again to please their Gods, to make the world an abattoir again to impress their Gods

Gods ??? A simple question... How can we have so many Gods running a single world? How is it not possible that there is no conflict? The simple answer being there is but one God... A simple logic, there can be only one God on the apex He who is the Almighty, the Unfathomable, the Colossal. He who is the lord of Jesus, Krishna, Mohammed and Buddha.. He who sent them in various eras, to confirm his existence, to pass his message of love, asking people not to divide among themselves and its very obvious that none of them were religious, they all were spiritual. They all believed in the existence of supreme being they broke the barriers of ignorance and taught a common religion of humanity

Elbert Hubbard once said "Religions are many and diverse, but reason and goodness are one". It is true that different people interpret God on the basis of their own accord for some hes just a mathematical formula, for some his confined to an idol, some find him in mosques, others in temples or churches,n remaining in love, compassion and benevolence. But for me he is more like a caressing mother, who wants to see his children together not drifted apart. Spirituality is believing in this supreme power who wants his children to be amiable... but religion is believing in everything else except the almighty,it is more of cramming up the Vedas, the Puranas, the Quran, the Bible but spirituality is putting them to action. These books may have been written in different languages and each belong to different sect, but they all are unanimous over the existence of God. Then how can Hindus have a different god and Muslims different?

Why people have to act like mute spectators when they are supposed to take an initiative and bring the people under one roof irrespective of their religion. Only then this world can become a better place to live in and only then incidents like 9/11, Mumbai blasts, Gujarat riots will cease. That is when all the people will realize that they have a common source of origination Why people cant understand a simple logic that they should stop running after any void religion, and start acting rationally In a pensive mood, these are some of the thoughts that pack my mind... Thoughts that provoke to act in the right direction direction that leads to its awaited destination; destination which is our lord; Lord who belongs to everyone.

Religion and Spirituality
Rightly your Views distinguish between both. The great Saints that you mentioned helped themselves by Meditating. We as laymen, connected to Social norms and Desires care-a-hoot for this time consuming stance. But still the Saints mingle with us to give a new Religion, instilling a philosophy of Spirituality. Here Religion is only Duty towards mankind referring to the Customs due to geographical conditions during that Era & Place. Spirituality shows the unknown! When we speak of Similarity only, then there is bound to be no Enmity.
