Reliance Industries is a household name in India now. Even in places around the world, business men know the company. This is not a company that was started many decades ago. A great visionary started this company very few years ago.

The visionary who started the company was Dhirubhai Ambani. He started from a poor family and came up in life the hard way. He started the company in a small way and now it is a mammoth company. After the death of Dhirubhai Ambani, his two sons took over the company.

Mukesh was the elder and Anil the younger son of Dhirubhai. They both had a few misunderstandings and the company was divided between the brothers in a settlement. Now, both the brothers own several companies under the brand name Reliance.

Some of the companies owned by the Ambanis are the Reliance Industries and reliance petroleum owned by Mukesh. Reliance communication, Reliance Infrastructure Company, Reliance power and Reliance capital are some of the companies owned by Anil. So what made these companies what they are today? How did they grow so much in a short span of time? These are answers everyone would like to know.

Here are a few reasons for the grand success of the company.

1. Hard work:
Hard work always pays. The hard work done by Dhirubhai Ambani especially was the reason for the company to flourish. It is always more difficult in the initial period than in the later years when the company has established itself.

2. Visionary: Dhirubhai was a visionary. Unless the person has a vision to succeed and plans for the future, the company will remain static. Dhirubhai Ambani implemented his visions into reality.

3. Value unlocking: Once the company had established itself, there was no looking back. The company diversified from textiles into Petroleum, infrastructure, power generation, communication and other such industries. Offering Initial Public Offerings of their company did value unlocking. In fact Reliance Power was one of the most sought after IPO's in India.

4. Keeping up the momentum: Starting a company initially may be difficult, but unless the momentum is maintained, the company will start floundering. Reliance Company has done this part wonderfully well to press ahead in search of greater glory and they are on the verge of greater things. Reliance has indeed become the biggest private producer of oil in India.

These are the reasons for the success of Reliance Industries. Any management that follows these strategies will surely succeed. The company is all set to overcome many barriers to become an international force.
