Extramarital affair is a tragedy as far as a family is concerned. An affair is the most common reason for the break up in a family. There are many affairs that can end in a divorce. Almost all the people involved in an affair lead a life that is devoid of any pleasure. Initially when the extramarital affair starts, the individuals in the affair may be very happy and satisfied with how things are going. As time passes, they start feeling less involved.

The people involved in the affair also have to share the time that they have between their family and their new found love. This takes a toll after a few days or months of adjusting. The person involved gets irritated due to lack of time. All the worry of being found out catches up till finally one day the whole skeleton falls out of the cupboard. This is how an affair ends!

What may be the reasons for an extramarital affair to start? This is the question upper most in the minds of people who have never had an affair. There may be various reasons for an affair to start and all the answers lie within the family. The cause of the affair can lie partly with the spouse of the person involved in the affair. This article is not about making the spouse guilty, but for people to avoid an affair in the marriage.

1. Time spent with each other: The husband and wife should spend adequate time with each other every day if possible to avid an affair. When there is lack of time for each other and when life is on the fast track, then there is bound to be an affair around the corner that has the power to bring the whole life crashing to a halt. So not spending time with each other in a marriage can lead to an affair.

2. Fights between husband and wife: When there is a fight between the husband and wife, it should be resolved before the day ends. IF there is a fight late in the evening, then it should be resolved before the couple go off to sleep. If the fight carries over to the next day, then in all probability, the couples are at a distance from each other that can lead to further rifts. There are also couples who do not talk with each other for days and finally make up. The fights that carry over to the next day carry a high risk of an affair leading to a breakdown in the marriage.

3. A dull marriage: A marriage should never be dull. This will lead to a dulling of the senses and any spark from a third person can lead to a powerful flame that will lead to an affair. So dull marriages can be a reason for an affair. So the couples should try to pep up their marriage.

These are the very common reasons for an extramarital affairs that is within the marriage. There may be divorces that just happen all of a sudden. An affair is very powerful, but it is not as powerful as a marriage. So if there is forgiveness all around, then life can go on for the family in spite of an affair.
