Internet was started as a tool for sharing information in US department of defense; then universities started using it and finally it became an open library for everybody in the world. As far as the sharing of the information is concerned, it is well and good, But off late internet has been loaded with the tons of information which can only been accessed by adults, and in many cases it can also be accessed by the minors. This is bring the a very bad effect negative effect on our society. It may very well result in an increased immoral and under age sexual activities in the society. For example, even if you want to know the sex (gender) ratio in the country and you type the key words in the search engines, hundreds of dirty/porn websites will be appear in those results. When we have the restrictions for the adult movies, why can't we have the restrictions on these websites? The security technology has so improved that we can set the firewalls for the browsers. Some Internet Service Providers have text only connections. These like connection can be used for this measure. This can prevent the access of adult information by the minors. Parents should take care about the browsing hobby of their children. Even the chat rooms tend to take the growing children in the wrong way. There can be the establishment of relationships based on the fake information. Chat rooms are a common place for sex offenders and there is no way one can tell that who is on the other side. So Internet has to be used as a tool for gaining good knowledge. It has really a great collection of resources. There should be proper awareness and publicity about those resources sharing, which can make people to browse the net for those things.
