Kerala is one of the smaller states in India. It is present in the Southern part of India with the land being close to the water in nearly half of the states extent. The place is very beautiful with a lot of flora and fauna in the forests of this place. The place is also blessed with many beautiful natural types of scenery because of the presence of the ocean in nearly half of the place. Kerala is a place that has thousands of domestic tourists visiting every year. There is also presence of international tourism in this state.

The most common places to visit in Kerala are Ernakulam, Thiruvanandhapuram, and Kovalam among many others.

This is the capital of the state and has an international airport where many tourists land every year from other countries. Though Trivandrum as it was previously known is a beautiful place, it lacks the beauty of the other places mentioned in this article. Another reason for this is that since this place is the capital city, there is a lot of overcrowding and so the place is relatively more polluted. There is a Zoo in Trivandrum which is one of the must visit places of this city.

Ernakulam and Cochin:

This is the place that has many refineries and when one lands in this place, the approach of the plane is usually from the sea and the refineries operating can be viewed. The twin cities of Ernakulam and Cochin are one of nature's gifts to the country and the state of Kerala. The must visit places of Ernakulam include the Bolgatty palace, the Jewish synagogue and the Chinese fishing nets. The Chinese fishing nets especially can be a wonder for those who have never seen it before. These are huge nets mounted on bamboo poles on the water's edge and they are lowered into the water. After sometime, they are raised with loads of fish.

This is one of the pristine beaches that one can ever come across. The water and the beach are very clean with no pollution to spoil them. The beach has been developed for the tourists and is dotted with many resorts. People can stay in them and also enjoy the various Ayurvedic massages available.

The Ayurvedic massage and treatment is very useful and will help to relax the person undergoing the massage. The massage also has a lot of medicinal value and has been used in treating many painful conditions and other diseases. Each type of treatment is very relaxing and has a separate price. The people who visit this place usually get a taste of one of these massages before they leave Kerala.

The tourists will also be very happy if they take a drive from one place to another as it will get them to see the famous backwaters of Kerala. These backwaters and the palm and coconut trees that surround the countryside make Kerala a place that is very beautiful. Driving around the state can also help the individual learn more about the culture of Kerala.
