Located in northern central Europe, Germany shares common frontiers with several popular tourist countries of Europe including Switzerland, Austria, France, Belgium, Netherlands and Denmark. Germany is divided into 16 provinces or states with Berlin being its largest and also the capital city. Each province has something special for its tourists. It is also known for its rich historical background which is eminent through its Gothic architecture along with its modern architecture. Berlin, Munich and Hamburg are the most popular cities here, well known for their vibrant nightlife and world class cuisine. The most popular places to see in Germany and the most popular tourist attractions of Germany include :-

Located on the Trave river next to the Baltic sea, Lubeck is known for being the second largest city in Schleswig Holstein in the northern part of Germany. Being a popular tourist attraction of Germany, Lubeck is mainly known for its rich culture and historical buildings. The beautiful old town also shares the title of "Glories of the empire" which was given to it and four other cities (Florence, Pisa, Venice and Rome) by Emperor Charles 1V in 1375.

Bremen Market Place
Bremen is one of the oldest port towns of Germany which is mainly known for its "Market Place" which is full of architectural treasures. One of the most symbolic architectures of Bremens Market place includes a 30ft tall statue, popularly known as Roland, it stands with a sword and a shield which is decorated with an imperial eagle. This statue is believed to protect the city of Bremen by standing tall in the center of the market place.

Located on the north eastern part of Germany by the river Spree, Berlin is known to be the historical capital of Germany. It is mainly known for the Berlin wall Memorial, Brandenburg Gate and over 180 museums and galleries that dipict a vast variety of subjects. Along with a rich historical background, Berlin is also known for its vibrant nightlife and modern architecture.

Cologne Cathedral
The Cologne Cathedral is one of the most popular tourist attraction of Germany. Since it is the largest Cathedral of the country, it is a important landmark of Germany and one of the most popular places to see in Germany. Guided tours are available that take you around the historic cathedral including the tower, roof or crypt. It is recommended to get the booking done for your tickets in advance if you want a guided tour or else you will not be able get one on the same day.

The Berchtesgaden National Park
Located at a few kilometers from the Australian border, the Berchtesgaden National Park is full of mesmerizing natural beauty. It is mainly known for its dense forests, deep gorges and glaciers, beautiful scenery, diverse wildlife, Eagle nests and ice caves. It's a perfect place for nature lovers, hiking and swimming are the two main activities here. The best time to visit the national park is spring to autumn.

This is a nineteenth century castle that has been built on a 300ft high hill. Sitting within the stunning landscape of the Bavarian Alps, Neuschwanstein is one of the most popular tourist attractions of Germany. A part of the popular film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was filmed here in 1968, also, the Disney Castle was inspired by this magnificent castle. This beautiful Castle with its breathtaking surroundings is one of the best places to see in Germany.

Rhine Valley
The beauty of Rhine Valley was made known to the world by the musicians, artisits and writers who got inspired by its beauty. Along with its majestic beauty, Rhine Valley is known for its Castles, historic towns, vineyards along with its historical and cultural past. The most popular things to do in this area include wine tasting at different vineyards, boat cruise tour along the river, tourists also have the option of staying in one of the resorted castles overnight. This breathtaking valley is dotted with beautiful towns and castle ruins that are enveloped by high mountains, making it a popular tourist attraction of Germany.

The oktoberfest of Germany is known for being the largest beer festival of the world that draws millions of visitors to the beer Gardens of Munich each year in the months of September and October. The fest starts in late September where the people drink beer, eat mouth watering food, watch beer parades and listen to traditional music. The fest is also known for its extra strong beer which is brewed by local breweries and is served in traditional mugs along with large quantities of sausages and chickens. The festival is attended by over 6 million beer lovers each year.
