The establishment of the statue of 'Thiruvalluvar' in Bangalore had brought a strong opposition by the unions in support of local language of Karnataka. So called Kannada unions have strongly protested on the day of uncovering the statue of Thiruvalluvar. But the government of Karnataka has justified the establishment of the statue of Thiruvalluvar as a step towards bringing a good co-ordination between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu states. There was an agreement between two governments to establish the statue of Thiruvalluvar in Bangalore and to establish the statue of Sarwajna in Chennai.

Thiruvalluvar is a great poet who had taught the value of humanity to the world, irrespective of the place, language and the religion. After Quran and Bible, his book "Thirukkural" is the book which has got translated to highest number of languages of the world. Thiruvalluvar use to live about two thousand years ago. At that there was no division or differentiation as Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. He has written his thoughts in Tamil language, just because Tamil was his language. He had not opposed or degraded any other languages. He had not even asked people to fight in the name of the language or to make use of his name for the politics or for vote banking.

Sarwajna is also a great poet from Karnataka, who had taught the value of humanity. Even his books got translated to many languages. His writings have been honored and followed across the world. There is saying "There is no leaf which goat does not eat, and there is no topic on which Sarwajna did not write". Sarwajna is a poet who has written about all the values of humanity.

So, it is very unfortunate that present generation using the names of such great poets in the names of politics and fighting each other.
