Making your collection grow:

1.Exchange with people who are interested. You can find their contact from many websites that advertise their wants.

2.List yourself as a potential exchanger on one or more of these sites.

3.Start your collection from mails you get at home and also your office.

4.You can also buy stamps from philatelic shops or on e-bay.

I had around 2500 stamps which was collected by my grandparents and then my parents. In the last 2 years my stamp collection has jumped from 2500 to about 10,000 stamps. I have about 70 exchange partners around the world who exchange on a regular basis.

Tips to exchange stamps.

1. If you contact the person on internet, you should send the stamps first. But make sure if they are not cheats by asking for a reference or checking if they are on a ‘Good collector' list

2. The usual exchange is 1:1.

3. Make sure you send good quality stamps to get similar ones in return

4. Mark the covers to avoid damaging the covers during transit.

5. Send by registered post whenever possible.

6. Make sure you return stamps on time to your exchange partners.

7. Send the specified stamps, be it mint stamps or commemorative stamps.

8. Beware of cheats. They are everywhere.

I have lost hundreds of stamps in spite of being careful. With that as a warning to be careful with cheats, be assured that there are thousands of genuine collectors waiting for your stamps and to send you stamps. So happy collecting mates. Good luck
