Orlando - Things to do in this great vacation destination

When my husband went to Orlando, Florida on a business trip I accompanied him. We lived there for 8 months. Landing in a great vacation destination in USA for a short time, we enjoyed visiting all the wonderful places there. It has several attractions for all ages of people.

Life in Orlando
Orlando, in the east coast of USA is a very good place to live. With the world class entertainment options, world-famous tourist attractions and beaches it is a uniquely livable ccommunity. It has many technological centers and is always open for business. It has beautiful golf courses. Orlando always has warm, humid climate and the state Florida is known as 'sun shine state'. FL State is famous for sweet, tangy oranges. While most of the nation shivers under winter's chill, Florida harvests its citrus sunshine. The maximum temperature in summer would reach 95 degrees. Summer would be terrible and it has no snowfall or harsh winter. In winter, during the month of february, it would be 50 degrees. So do to this warm weather conditions, old people would prefer to settle down there after their retirement. Orlando has a considerable hurricane risk. So far, this city has been hit by three hurricanes severely.

Best time to visit:
Orlando, always has high floating population. It has visitors throughout the year. July and August are considered peak months in the vacation calendar. It is the time when the schools are on vacation, it will be a fun packed summer. Theme parks will be busy, there will be long waiting queue for the rides. But these places are huge and well equipped to handle large crowds and keep them moving throughout the day. January and February are usually considered off peak months, which means that if you are looking for a little less crowded theme park experience, this is an ideal time to travel.

Places to visit

Walt DisneyWorld:
Every body would have dreamt of going to this fairytale place atleast once. This world famous biggest attraction hosts 6 Theme Parks, 2water parks and huge hotel. It has magic kingdom park, Epcot, MGM studios, animal kingdom, typhoon lagoon, blizzard Beach and downtown disney. Each parks are spectacular and unique in their own way.

Universal studios:
It is a place for super real action of your favourite movies. You can experience back stage props of many popular movies such as Spiderman, Hulk, Twister and Jaws. It is the movie based theme park. It also has another theme park 'Islands of adventure' which is the technological theme park to be ever built. It has several thrill rides that pumps your adrenaline. There is also 'universal city walk' that provides live shows, entertainment, good dining experience.

SeaWorld:
This is the place that opens up the mystery of sea life. It is a marine adventure water park. It has wonderful entertaining shows of animal performances. Shamu show is a very famous must see show. SeaWorld also has several thrill rides.

Gatorland:
Orlando also known alligator capital of the wold. This is the alligator theme park and wild-life preserve.

Wet 'n wild:
This is a water park that has great water rides for all ages. It emphasis on multi person rides that groups can enjoy together.

Kennedy space center:
It is the nation's gateway to exploring, discovering and understanding our universe. NASA's John F. Kennedy Space Center has helped set the stage for America's adventure in space for more than four decades. You can tour launch area, meet an astronaut, giant rocket and spaceflight simulators.

Silver Springs:
This is located Ocala city with is an hour and half drive from Orlando. This is a huge natural spring in all its glory. It has wildlife exhibits, botanical gradens, river cruise and several thrill rides too. It has beautiful, famous glass bottom boats. You get to sit in the boat, sheltered from the heat and in your own comfort all while viewing the underwater life below you.

Bush garden:
This park is in Tampa, which is about 2 hours drive from orlando. This has a combination of animal encounters and superb white knuckle thrill rides, the park caters to a variety of tastes and age groups.

Orlando science center:
This has hundreds of hands-on interactive exhibits, plus a planetarium with an 8-storey dome screen.

Daytona beach and NASCAR:
This is the most famous beach which is a 23 miles of white sandy beach, lots of nightlife, museums, specialty shops and restaurants. It also has 'world center of racing'. It is the official attraction of NASCAR. Hold on to your seats and prepare to experience the towering, larger-than-life magic of IMAX 3D technology in the Pepsi IMAX Theatre.

Museums:
Wonder works museum is the place 'where science has gone crazy'. It is the place where young and adults can pickup some science information. Ripley's believe it or not is another good museums.

Apart from these there are several famous gold clubs, huge malls that has variety of shopping choices. So when you get a chance, make sure you enjoy all the wonderful attractions in the land of Orlando.
