Planning is the basic foundation for any action. Proper planning not only makes the task easy but is a stepping stone towards successful. Without proper planning, the work may have to be done again and again. Proper planning makes the goal very clear and avoids any possible mistakes. Even if there would be a variance in the result, which would be minute. Any action to be successful, proper planning is needed. Without proper planning, success is not only difficult but almost impossible. A planned person always stands a better chance to succeed than a unplanned one. In a traditional way, planning is -Thinking before doing-. But as per modern management planning is not just limited to thinking. Thinking is an act limited to once persons mind. But modern management is about team work. Any corporate would not entertain applying the thought of one person or one mind. In modern management, the planning has to be put across the management team and the opinions have to be collected. If anybody has alternative ideas, even those ideas have to be taken as input. All the ideas have to be put across the meeting table and documented. In the discussion pros and cons of all the ideas or plans have to be discussed. After considering all those points, the best plan has to be chosen. The final conclusion has to be drafted as a plan of action. While drafting a plan of action, even the steps of achieving that plan have to be considered. The resources have to be budgeted according. The internal and external factors affecting that plan have to be analyzed. If it has controllable factors, action has to be taken to control such factors. If there are uncontrollable factors like legal barriers, the plan to has to designed to cope up with such factors. All the great achievements have perfect planning behind it. So for any action to be success, a perfect planning is a must, so that the best action can be termed as -The execution of the perfect plan-.
