Mining businessBY: Muhammed Haris | Category: Others | Post Date: 2009-08-20
In mining business, people extract gold, silver, copper, steal, petroleum etc from the earth. Mining people earn crores of money in their mining business. People, who have sufficient capital to do mining, take away all the valuables that have been extracted from the earth and earn huge amount of money by selling those. But just because they have money, do they have the moral right to take out those resources and sell them? Has the earth permitted them to do so? In actual sense mining resources should be the assets of the public as such. So the government should undertake all the mining business and the huge money earned out of it should be used for the development of the nation. The mining should not be allowed to be done by few rich people only so that they don't become even more rich and powerful to the extent that they start controlling the government. In India, most of the mining has been done by few reach people and all the huge money earned out of it goes for the construction of palace like houses and buying helicopters and other luxurious vehicles. Even the taxes are not paid on it. The people working on it are not even paid compensation when they die due to accidents in the mining. In fact the news of accidental death is usually kept hidden from the media. Mining has been absolutely made as way of earning in Millions at the cost of the life of the common people. People who are working in mine have been paid very low wages. The amount paid to them is nowhere comparable to the risk and the danger they are facing in their work. So, the government should bring the required law to take the ownership of the mining business. Government has to spend the money earned out of mining to the development of the nation and the mining workers have to be paid a reasonable rate.
