Microsoft has brought a revolution in the filed of Software. Before Microsoft windows and other Microsoft office applications came into existence, a person who wanted to use a computer was supposed to have a programming knowledge. The operating systems like Linux, UNIX, and Apple etc were not very user friendly. But Microsoft has brought revolution up to the extent, if a person knows English he can operate computer and he can do many more things on his computer. The Microsoft office applications are very much a full-fledged set of applications which can meet the requirement from a layman to a big businessman. Microsoft Word is a simple word processor, but its inbuilt with the advanced options. Any size of document .can be created, formatted, saved and maintained in it. One can even create a website using MS word, as easy as creating a document and then publish it in HTML format. Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet application which is also very user friendly. At the same time, it can be used for data management and accounting. It allows managing the data with about sixty five thousand rows and about five hundred columns! If a person is handling a data with more than that size, probably he is using wrong data or may be e can split it. Microsoft PowerPoint has become a common name and people use it extensively while presenting a speech. PowerPoint presentation is nothing more than a file created using Microsoft PowerPoint but it has ability to give some solid presentation. It has really brought a revolution in the filed of presentation. Microsoft Access is a simplified database management tool. In olden days people had to maintain the databases by using the commands. The applications like Dbase, FoxPro were not user a friendly and not so sophisticated. Using Microsoft Access databases can be built with simple windows features, in turn other database softwares required programming for it. In total Bill Gates reserves the name of "Software Legend".
