Tooth decay is a very difficult problem a child can face. Tooth problems early in the life of a child can cause the child lose confidence, because of the loss of aesthetic appearance.

Every parent should know these most important methods of preventing tooth decay in their child. These methods include the following

1. Give plain water to the child before sleep:

The child who eats many things that are sweet before they sleep has a very high risk of getting tooth decay. The best method to prevent the child from getting tooth decay is to give plain water to the child before the child sleeps. When the child drinks plain water, the mouth gets rinsed off all the food particles and the mouth becomes clean. This reduces the chances of bacteria growing on the teeth thus preventing the chance of the child getting tooth decay.

2. Brush the baby's teeth before sleep:

If you are in the habit of feeding the child very late, then you should surely brush the teeth of the child top prevent early tooth decay. Learn from the visit to the dentist on the correct method of brushing the baby's teeth. This will help to keep the teeth of the baby clean and healthy. It will prevent the teeth from getting decayed.

3. Visit to dentist:

Make sure that you take your child to a dentist to make sure that your child's tooth does not get decayed early. A visit to the dentist at least once in the first few years of life is very important as it can help to prevent the problems that can occur in the teeth of the child. The dentist can help in many ways like

4. Bottle feeding:

The parents who bottle feed the child can have more problems in the child's teeth. The best method to prevent the tooth decay is to stop the bottle feed that the child is getting. Breast feeding in the early years will help to prevent the problems to the teeth. It will also increase the immunity of the child. So bottle feeding should be avoided to prevent the chances of getting tooth decay.

5. Avoid sweets and sweet liquids especially at night:

This is one of the most important methods of preventing tooth decay in your child. The baby that is fed with sweets or some sweet liquid like juices are the ones that are at a very high risk of getting tooth decay in spite of the brushing of the teeth. During the day time, eating these sweets are okay because the production of saliva and repeated drinking of water will wash off all the sweet substances. Avoiding any sweets and sugary fluids late at night will help to prevent tooth decay.

These are the most important methods of preventing tooth decay in a child. There are other home and natural remedies that are present to help prevent tooth decay in children, but these methods should not be considered unless the above methods have been tried first.
