Dental health of a person is very important. In fact it is as important as a persons health of the body. There are certain methods of maintaining the dental health of a person. It will help in keeping the mouth, the teeth and the gums in good condition. Good oral care and dental health will also help prevent bad breath.

There are simple tips to maintain the dental health. These tips are listed below:

1. Brushing: Regular brushing of teeth is very important. The brush has to be soft on the gums at the same time firm on the teeth. So a brush with bristles that are neither hard nor soft should be selected. The brush should be replaced at least once every three months. The brushing of the teeth should be in both the vertical direction and also horizontal direction. This will clean the teeth. Proper method of brushing will help in maintaining good dental and oral health.

2. Flossing: Regular and effective flossing of the mouth will also help in preventing diseases like tooth decay and also formation of cavities. Flossing will help to prevent food particles from remaining in the mouth. Flossing should be done at least in the morning. It can also be done after every meal. Flossing is an important method of maintaining oral health.

3. Food that you eat: The food that a person eats can also cause tooth decay and cavities. Eating a lot of foods that have high sugar content can lead to increased chances of tooth decay.

4. Natural foods: Vegetables and fruits like apples and oranges are good. These help in building the teeth and keeping it strong. Natural foods are designed to keep the teeth and the gums healthy. Eating processed foods can lead to increased damage to the teeth and also result in poor oral hygiene.

5. Mouth wash: Using a good mouth wash will help in removing the bad smell that occurs in the breath. This will also clean the mouth of any disease causing bacteria.

6. Chewing gum: Chewing sugar free gum can help in keeping the teeth strong. It will also help to maintain good oral health.

These are some of the important methods of maintaining good oral health. Regular visit to the dentist is also important. A visit every six months will help in early identification of any problems in the teeth. This will help in appropriate treatment and prevent further complications. Even children should be encouraged to maintain oral health as it can prevent damage to the teeth in older age.
