Human resource management is very important in all types of organizations. The reason for this is that humans form the core of any organization and they give life to the company. They are the most important resources in the company. If not for the human face of the company, nothing will work and all the activities of the organization will come to a standstill.
The human resource is very important and adequate importance should be given for this in every organization whether it is big or small. This will ensure the success of the company. The reason for this is that only when the human resources are happy will the productivity of the people increase and this will lead to success of the company.
The various methods that are involved in the initial process of providing human resource in an organization are as follows:
1. Identify the type and amount of service needed:
This is the initial step involved in provision of human resources. The company or the boss of the company should identify the various types of employees needed in the company. This will make sure that there is minimization of the expenditure related to staff salaries and only the right number of people is appointed.
2. Determine the personnel categories:
The various categories of personnel needed in the company have to be decided. In fact the various personnel needed depend on the different departments in the company. The different departments need adequate number of people in them for the successful running of the company.
3. Predict the number of personnel in each job category:
The number of people as said earlier depends on the various departments present and the work involved in the company. Adequate planning before the selection process will ensure that the company management knows how many people to select.
4. Recruit personnel to available positions:
The recruitment process is one of the longest processes in human resource management. The reason for this is that the right person has to be selected; otherwise the company will not be successful. Recruitment itself involves various steps including advertising for people, conducting various tests for the applicants and also conducting interviews for tem before selecting the right person for the right job.
5. Select and appoint personnel:
Selecting and appointing personnel is a very important activity in the company. The final selection should be done very carefully and the management should make sure that the person will fit into the company very well. This is because if the person does not fit in well, then the company and its profits will suffer.
6. Orient Personnel:
This is the first step in the process of inducting the person in the organization. Once the person has been selected to work in the organization, the person is oriented to the various personnel in the company. This helps the person to have a smooth transition into the company and also introduces the individual to all the important people and the departments that are functioning in the company.
