Effective meeting can ensure the smooth flow of communication and it can bring everybody is on the same page. Every organization arranges regular meetings of the team. But only if proper meeting etiquette have been followed, meetings can be effective. The main meeting etiquette can be listed as below.

1. There should the proper system of collecting the agenda points from the participants. Participants can be made to send their agenda points to the facilitator through mail or a grid can be saved in a common folder, where every participant has the access to it.

2. Facilitator should cascade the final agenda of the meeting, well before the start of meeting.

3. Time limit has to be set for each agenda point. Facilitator should ensure that the agenda items do not exceed the set time limit.

4. Facilitator should ensure that the meeting starts on time and all the participants reach the venue on time. Penalty system can be implemented to the late comers.

5. Agenda points have to be arranged in the order of priority and importance of the topic. It would ensure that, in case meeting has to be stopped in between for any valid reason, the important points would be discussed well before it.

6. Facilitator should ensure that the discussion does not go beyond the scope of the agenda point and only one person speaks at a time and nobody interferes in between.

7. Facilitator should reserve to take any disciplinary action against any participant, in case if he violates any of the meeting etiquettes.

8. The Minutes of the meeting has the to be sent to all the participants.
